i've been in track of this phone since May, however I'm still thinking if i would go for this one since the phone's specs will be outdated for system upgrades in the near future. Scouted several Sony Ericsson stores here in Manila, yet no sign of it being released...

blurry with high noise and bad compression
battery
4 hours in music
3 hours in browsing
3 hours in video player
2.75 hours playing game
i have tes 4 unit and the conclution is above they are same!

this phone full of bugs!
-wrong date for sms
-battery is very2 weak!
-camera shot is blurry
-is fast menu has delay
-always restart when roaming
dont buy it instead buy pager because your so easily tricked!

All new things like Flash 10.1 etc works only with Android 2.2 . So X8 with Android 1.6 and later with Android 2.1 is useless. And Android phone is not for a people who won't install any apps from market. Why would they buy Android phone? Those people should keep Nokia 3110. Which BTW isn't more dated as SE X8.

Android 1.6? What the...? I thought SE would be doing something to turn around their ailing fortunes, but with decisions like this, they're putting the nail in their own coffin. Goodbye, SE!

jasdeep, 09 Oct 2010hey all of u who r talking abt 1.6 and 2.1 version.does any... more1~2 months? I thought the company said the same thing when it released X10 back in April....then Q3, then Q4, and some websites commented it may even be Dec 31 if one is lucky.
The credibility for upgrade for this company is really...
Though I guess X8 users would be happier than those of X10, afterall they pay about half the price but may likely get the 2.1 update on the same date as X10....

You should look at the perspective that this is a phone and not a computer. Also, it is a low end phone for that matter. It just that the prospective buyer of this phone will probably never install any application from the Android Market...
Make sense? Don't compare this to the buyer of X10, that's a different league, price wise and all...

What is wrong with SE ??? How can they lauch a phone with Android 1.6?? Almost everyone already offers Android 2.2, while SE offers very old Android 1.6 with upgrate to 2.1 (which is already dated too) before end of the year ? They are one year behind HTC, Motorola and Samsung. Those SE phones with Android 1.6 and even 2.1 before end of the year are useless.
