Tjobby, 10 Aug 2016This makes no sense. Why would they spend the time on this?Apart from the obvious advertising value, do not forget that it can prevent support calls, if they can have people check their speed BEFORE they even consider contacting netflix on problems with the streaming, that could be explained by lack of bandwidth.

Tjobby, 10 Aug 2016This makes no sense. Why would they spend the time on this?Aren't you talking about it and isn't the specialty media also talking about it?
    It's called FREE ADVERTISING.

Tjobby, 10 Aug 2016This makes no sense. Why would they spend the time on this?it's called agregated value, as it works exactly the same some ppl might think it's unnecesary but for the company it's one more thing that they have (websites and now apps) to make the analogy, think of the carriers that have a website for ur bills and details, and they also have an app that show u the exact same things (usually the website has more options though)

it will fail...we already have Speedtest.net wich is way better than this...

Netflix should focus on Netflix and give people better movies, because i think Netflix dont care about people who pay for theyr service, the people who buy that because the series is ok, but people who want movies is not OK, the movies in theyr catalog is nothing special, no sucess movies!
