I wish it was designed as a USB 3.1 type c cable with optional reversible connectors so that it would not become obsolete in near future.....

franz.alex, 14 Aug 2016A quick search on a well-known Chinese online shopping site... morecould you tell us the "well-known" china online shops?
I have one of MicFlip. Good quality, but still way too overpriced for what it is.

Ever heard of Blitzwolf? It is way more ahead than MicFlip 2.0.

A quick search on a well-known Chinese online shopping site produces several similar results. In fact, I have been using one of such products for the past five or six months without any problems.

What surprises me is why it took MicFlip so long to produce this product while other manufacturers had been producing them for so long.

It reminds me when I first saw my USB cable from my Letv 1s, reversible at one end, other end with USB Type-C. The cable is 8 months old and is in an excellent condition. Now I'm using another cable from Le Max2, same type,no worries :)

komodo, 14 Aug 2016This is advertismentJust like every smartphone review, right ? :)

wafer thin clip, it might not last long :|

I had similar cable, no problems at all. I actually also had cheap chinese microSD card Pendrive reader, that also had double side usb, and also no problem at all with it. if not broken sd slot I still would use it.

To be honest double-side USB AND even microUSB is nothing new, and it could be use in every device, by every producer. And why they didnt made that few years ago? Hard to tell, because its not technical problem, its really easy to make. Its not materials, because they could use any material for pin holders, they dont need to stick to PCB.
Today looking at usb-c real speed on pc-phone and cable problems, I think normal usb still could be used without any problems, because no matter what device and cable I use, transfer speed is almost the same as old usb 2.0(read: good and fast even for few GB files), so what the point to use it in phones? because phones doesnt need to transfer bigger power(one of feature of usb-c) and media transferring in current stage is good for HD videos, its not like people who will stream videos from phone to TV via cable need pixel perfect quality, as far as framerate and bitrate is good no one care.

I bought them a few months ago and have no issues to date. I have 4 of their cables and they work as advertised. But when I bought it, it was on sale for 13 bucks a pair.

divis200, 14 Aug 2016The ports probably are easy to break.I can't help but think these thin PCBs where the contacts are won't last a year before breaking, there's enough spring force on the USB connectors to cause some bad flexing on the contacts, that's the reason those super thin flash drives/micro SD readers stay inside the USB and don't fall off.
With luck they won't break in a short circuit or inside the ports.

Blitzwolf reversible cable is much cheaper and just as good. I've owned it for over a year and it's highly durable. It only costs 4 dollars from banggood
