4:3 / 3:2, apps looks good in landscape or portrait. Weight distribution better. Widgets display good in either portrait or landscape.
16:9 / 16:10. Junk in portrait. Keyboard sucked in portrait. Harder to hold in 1 hand. Widget can look like shit in some orientation.
Samsung saw the benefit of 4:3 better then 16:9 / 16:10 junks. There is a reason why PC monitors are 16:10 / 16:9.. because they have no need for onscreen keyboard. On tablets its a complete waste of screen real estate.

And nowan will care unless it comes with a stylus Xd. And a good display and processor/ram (which never happens with Sammy tablets being weaker than smartphones)

Fast charging and better placement of the speakers amd its all good. The Tab S2 was preety good, very slim and light. The aspect ratio might not be for everyone but it is a pretty good tablet.

If its browsing, sites are done in way to view them in nb and pc's(16;9) and even if they are narrow, you can just hold tablet vertically. If its about documents, they are closer to 3:2 ratio. Nothing 4:3 there. Thats the reason for surfaces to be in 3:2. But android tablets are mostly for media...

4:3 displays are great for viewing documents and websites. If you want a mainly multimedia orientated tablet then there are more than enough alternative options.

Samsung variants got nothing to do with performance of apple tablets. Last good one was S 10.5 with amoled. Samsung could do so much if used latest specs like S7/Note7's in this one. It would be great competitive device(for surfaces, ipads) even with pen, better resolution, screen tech and aspect ratio. Just whats in 4:3. everything is in 16:10,16:9 or 21:9. Same goes for resolution, QHD is great for phones chatting/..., but not for tablets where you Read and Watch what needs so much more 4K resolution? Actually I can see microsoft and everyone else to bring powerful tablets with 4K,pen's and newest tech. Tablet market is not dead, its samsung.

I have a Tab S2 and it is fantastic! I hope the new one will have an active digitizer. Waterproofing would be nice too.

Screw you samsung. Again with that apple 4:3 aspect ratio shitty display. There are no videos that can run natively at that resolution and the black borders when watching videos are ugly. I don't expect any good cpu either. I hope you can at least make a new galaxy note tablet.

Looks very much like iPad 9.7".
Almost every thing in terms of physical dimensions are same.
Round home button is replaced by capsule shaped one and a Samsung logo on top.
But apple scores in department of processor power.S2 had sd650 / exynos equivalent.let see how third edition turns out.
