I'm not agreed with the people who say mi5 is not a good vfm and say op3 is much better. Actually both phones are excellent vfm. I don't think 32gb mi5 is worth but 64gb and 128gb versions are excellent value for money. As a brother said, camers on both phones are good, though I liked op3's. Some may like smaller form factor of mi5, others will op3's. Some may prefer to have 2gb of extra ram, others will think 4gb is enough (as both s7 and note 7 have 4gb) and 90h of endurance on mi5 is always a plus point compared to 66h of op3. And you get double the storage with less price (comparing 128gb mi5 with op3) and you can't have 128gb on op3.
Considering all this, mi5 vs op3 is just a matter of preference.

Xiaomi needs to slash the price a lot more if they hope to compete with OP3 and Le2Max. Both of them made the entire Mi5 line irrelevant.

AnonD-551020, 15 Aug 2016What's the cost of producing these phones? Production cost always depend on quantities. I can only speculate for between $280 and $330 for the ceramic 4g/128gb. Could be much cheaper if they produced 100 million units but I believe not even 30 million of the ceramic model were made. Extravagant profits is not Xiaomi motto yet.

I can get xiaomi mi5 really cheap in my country so i will choose that. I value my battery life too, which sucks in le max 2 and OP3. Every phone has it's upsides and downsides.

divis200, 15 Aug 2016OP3 isn't better when it comes to vfm. Xiaomi mi5 is 270 eu... morehere in India, entry level(higher end ones not launched) xiaomi mi5 costs 25k INR(335 euro) and op3 costs 28k(374 euro) with 1 year accidental warranty. le max2 costs 23k(307 euro). This the reason why mi5 is not at all selling here. People are getting bigger screen, most people like eye popping oleds, more ram, lots of internal storage, near stock android feel, premium build, 1 year accidental warranty, sd820 cpu clocked at higher freq compared to basic mi5, dash charging(with included charger), resale value of xiaomi phones being very very low. so op3 is vfm at least here.

xiaomi marketing has been so poor selling only low end models in Asia and pricing cheaper in India and China while raising prices for all other countries. it is what a Robin Hood phone seller wants to gain marketshare but at lost of revenues and reputation. I would sell phones at all countries at same prices to win hearts and volumes.

whoever xiaomi is hiring for marketing deServe nothing but D- for blunders. sell higher end models and keep prices equal else be like Samsung. xiaomi cannot gain market leader if it sells cheaper in India and China but disregard all 300 over couNtries.

Xiaomi mi5 is 270 euros (also it's a price from resellers not xiaomi) and OP3 is 400. When it comes to camera, they're about equal in my opinion. Display is a matter of opinion too. Some people prefer IPS LCD and some people prefer amoled screens. For these extra 130 euros OP3 gives 2x ram and storage. Of course you may want to compare the most expensive xiaomi mi5, but that's not right.
