[deleted post]Microsoft did not take down Nokia.
    That was Nokia plan.
And it worked perfectly. However Windows 10 is coming along nicely. And it's now start of Microsofts mobile plans for the next year to come

"...Update is finally rolling out"...and nobody really cares. The idea was there, make universal OS, that can connect all the devices. It failed so hard with MS not being able to understand and support their own users. Shame really, but I can't help thinking, that it's a karma for destroying Nokia. All I want to see now, is Nokia coming back with such a huge impact, that will put MS to shame.

Anonym, 16 Aug 2016This update reminds me of the glorious Windows Mobile 2003.... moreI'm afraid that you are right. It seems like it is dying - again...

A real pity actually. I liked the basic idea of a uniform system, that would allow future apps to work on 'any' device. And it was allegedly less bad on security than Android.

I think that they struggled(/struggles?) against quite a few prejudices e.g.
        a) Bad user experiences from previous windows-mobile attempts rubs off
        b) The image of MS as the assassins of Nokias mobile division
        c) The bad image of Win8.0 for PCs rubs off on the new windows tile-system as such.

Personally my brain is wired so I like a static interface, thus the whole tile/widget-thing is counter-productive for me - I have no idea of the size of the fraction of users that feel like this, I guess it is small though.

So much hype, apparently a pretty powerful OS, but actually a failure of such magnitude that Microsoft was just forgotten... so much that people don't even realize the same tricks and ploys repeating themselves once again.

Downloading it.. In India on my Lumia 730.
I have no hopes left with Microsoft's mobile OS. Just for the new and old features that were gone missing in W10 Mobile. I will not expect performance improvement.. Good if it happens..
