It's not the high end model they have a problem with, 128gb is still fine for that.
It's the entry model they to think about. If this iPhone 7 launches with anything less than 32gb it'll be a travesty.

If samsung just sells premium phones, it will sell more of their flagships, that's true because people will see samsung brand as a premium brand and not an all you can eat buffet type of company. Exactly, i consider that samsung sells all types of phones, that's why i clearly said samsung outsells apple in total units but apple sells more iphone than samsung's flagships.

the Galaxy s 3 was Samsungs best selling phone, which came close, but since then, Samsungs flag ship head to head against apple, did not outsell apple. Samsung depended on their 50 cell phones they release per year, to topple apples 1 unit per year, 2 in 2013, 2 units in 2014 and finally potentially, 3 units this year, (SE and the new iphones). Samsung's dominates against androids by pumping out 100 dollar phones, struggling.
To say Samsung's flag ships outsold apples flag ship is a utter lie, and disgrace in attempts to protect samsung or a lame attempt take a shot at apple. Samsung is the number 1 manufactuer in terms of units dispersed. Yes they are.
Recently posted article on GSM Arena, Samsung sells 13 million Galaxy s7 "since its release" and it came out February, Apples sales went down, from last quarter for Iphones, that said, in quarter 2 Apple sold 43 million iphones. Really buddy?

But when it comes talking about flagship only, Samsung just did beat Apple already.

People buy Apple iPhones just to own an iPhone.
IPhones are at best midrange phones sold at ultra premium prices
Apple is technologically competent it's been 10 years and not a water proof issue.
Apple could if it wanted fit them with memory expansion
It does not so just to add 16Gb costs another $100
So from the get-go you have to purchase a phone that has the capacity to hold the media you want to have now and may wish to add
With no expansion its weird as the 16Gb phone is the same as the 64Gb version simply due to the non expansion
IPhones are now carry all, you are carrying around everything and gave to purchase the same or higher memory when you upgrade
My point is how long hours / how many recharges would you have just to view a picture or listen to music on your phone saying you had a 128Gb now

I don't have the exact numbers but S3+S4 were definitely the closest at reaching iphone 5+5S units. Take the S7+S7 edge combo, they sold around 25 millions unit in first half of 2016, and Q2 iphone sales alone are around 50 millions. Of course, the 50 millions includes iphone SE, 6, 6 plus also, but realistically, there is no way that S7, S7 edge, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, Note 5, and all the active variants sold more than 100 millions in the 1H2016 to match or outsell 1H2016 iphone sales.
