the s6 series were a fiasco...my roomie had one..i think he went htc after the s6 edge...

    1. The phone will "press" the back button repeatedly of its own accord, this can occur even in the factory reset setup screen.

    2. The phone will refuse to charge. I have used the same adaptor on my S6 and a friends S6 and his works and mine will not charge, using a different adaptor will not work. It will not charge even if the phone is off. Leaving the phone off for about 2 hours allows it to charge.

    My belief is that the phone is overheating and this is causing the components to fail to operate correctly. The phone gets very hot and appears to slow in performance during these incidents. I recently found a test tool which shows that the CPU averages 70 degrees when operating and I suspect it gets higher when watching videos for a bit. I do not know the normal operating parameters but one web page suggested it should be below 60 when not being maxed out.

    I have sent the phone to the Samsung UK service centre twice with a lengthy letter explaining the issue, and video evidence stored on the phone and youtube and they have returned the phone with "cannot replicate fault". My phone was away from me for 3 weeks total and they did nothing.

    I went to the service centre in Milton Keynes as that is the nearest (1 hour drive). They advised that it was either a manufacturing fault or water damage. However, their current turn around time was 6 weeks.

    I am travelling to Edinburgh soon, hopefully I can get some improved service there...

    Previously all my Samsung phones were faultless. My wife has experienced faults with every single one of her iPhones, which I consider a pretty poor record, but each time we have gone into an Apple store and they have just swapped out the phone.

They are generally fine but they can only go so far. GS 3 issues with unknown cracking for example, service centre said they have had so many but can't replace the screens (they had to do that to hairline cracks to the frame) unless Samsung agreed it was a manufacturer fault. So the issue is Sammy. Still, going to get the Note 7, on pre-order from Carphone already and case the hell out of it. Screen Knight screen protector also purchased.

            1. You're fooling yourself. A DSLR > every mobile. Even the ones from 10+ years ago.

            2. Redundant. Every device does that. Even Windows 10 mobile.

            3. Same again

            4. The one subjective advantage. It has the capability, but it's still a fad gimmick right now. Much more useful on something like the surface tablet or ipad pro than a pocket device IMO.

            5. No, just no. Touchwiz is not a full on computer.

                To those wanting it cheaper. You cannot have it both ways. Consider what the Galaxy Note7 is, and think back to where we were technically 10-20 years ago:

                1. A very high quality digital camera, capable of images that equal those from DSLRs of 10 years ago, if not better. And then there is outstanding 4K video, that you had to buy a Panasonic GH4 for two years ago. (All said, my 2014 Note 4 shot outstanding 4K video.)

                2. A very powerful computer capable of web browsing, gaming, video playback (YouTube, NetFlix etc), music streaming/playback, TV remote control (with app), audio source for your car stereo (so you don't need a CD player anymore), audio source for your HOME stereo, so you don't need a home audio source any more (saving $$$£££€€€?!) Etc

                3. A global communications device (global when using VOiP apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram etc)

                4. A very well conceived electronic note pad and drawing device.

                5. Connect the Note7 to a monitor (I'm assuming the USB-C port will support this), a Bluetooth keyboard and a mouse, and you have a full on computer. (I have done this with my Note 4 using an MHL adaptor and it was outstanding.)

                        [deleted post]true thing..and the average buyer is not going to even look through this website...none of my friends bother..they ask me or they just tell their price cap to the seller in the shop..most of these vendors suggest samsung(its a good thing because the rest of the companies except asus and lg have bad after sales services)
                        the note is not built for gaming, true it can game but the s pen is the advantage, and they are giving it avway with the phone, not selling it separately like surface,
                        there should have been 2 or more polls i think, like are you a samsung user? if yea, will you upgrade to the s7 note?

                          lol..i bought my s7 edge at 1000$..no complains about samsung pricing..good enough tech has gone into it...the completely useless but you guys can't talk enough of it iris scanner for example...

                              Why opt for that which will be coming by 2020. Just suffice with what you have, till a revolution 4k takes over!

                                If Samsung would have offered the 821 chip in the Note 7 which the say is more efficient than the 820 it might have been worth the price upgrade,not bothered about the s-pen all the time,so i think i will get my money ready for the Galaxy S8 Edge or Galaxy X,or either wait till the prices start to drop for the Note 7,Galaxy S7 Edge might become more popular with price difference

                                      Note7 64gb cost $850 and Note5 64gb cost$812 thats a difference of $38 only. So for $38 more you get edge screen, iris scanner, better SoC and microsd card and people still complain about it being overpriced
