mmj321, 20 Aug 2016I guess people would prefer better shatter resistance over ... moreI can tolerate scratches and it can be prevented with cheap screen guards.
But cracking screen? especialy cracking QHD Amoled screen? That'll be a bit expensive to fix.

ShatterProtection>scratch protection. Water resistance is above those two but that's different and slightly localized issue.

I used to have phones(galaxy s3, lg g3 etc) with gorilla glass 2 to 4 and now 5 with note 7. They all get scratches in the long run without us knowing when. Thats why no matter what number that gorilla glass is, i will always use a screen protector and protective casing. This doesnt bother me at all.

i dont know what they want actually..........no one expects a phone to be bullet proof or so much scratch resistant that it can bear intentional scratches and tearing.....this video is so much insane......no body does this thing to their phones especially when it is that much expensive........this video shows that your note 7 isn't a brick which can withstand against a paper cutter blade....a cell phone isn't made for these purposes.........

I don't have the chance to scratch my screen anyway. Since they already screwed up in making enough devices to satisfy demand.

Corning lost without owning it up. They just had to make up an excuse like Jimmy's test "industry" standard? It scratched at 3, not 5. Simple as that.

Lets be honest, the brand has been going down hill ever since the death of their founder, HARAMBE.

So what's the point of Gorilla Glass 5? It scratches at level 3 just like Motorola's ShatterShield and isn't shatter-proof. Z Force is hence a better option for anybody going for a Note. You'll sacrifice water resistance and the stylus, but you'll have a shatterproof display (with the same level of hardness) as well as splash resistance and at the price of a Note7 you can buy a tempered glass protector, a JBL mod, couple of style shells and a battery mod along with the Z Force. And I'm not adding TouchWiz in cons still.

it's obvious. they're just trying to turn the table against the youtuber because his test didn't work out to be on their favor this time.

even if it's not actually "scratched", it still leave a mark.
The question now being, is the "not-a-scratch" mark could be erased?

If not, then its no different with scratch mark.
