If you watch the video he shows that the curved screen of the S7 Edge is much more resistant to scratches and there are screen protectors for curved displays, they've existed from the time of the S6 Edge's release

GORILLA GLASS 5 - corning has NOT released own test results .. independent tests revealing M3/4 poor hardness .. what does SAMSUNG say note 7 ...
2016 - loud overinflated false claims NOT science -- only SPIN .. soundbites not susbstance diappointing .. so corning or samsung -PROVE your claims .. for your own reputations ..for customers trust ..please

On balance, I decided to get this as I ALWAYS case my phones and use a screen protector on all my phones, no exception. Screen Knight will be installed to the screen and a Spigen case will be on the rear.
I tend to sell my phones if I am not feeling them and always want to get paid or sell them as A Grade!

Vic, 21 Aug 2016Also, owners on Note 7 with painted frame should think twic... moreYou mentioned the frame surrounding the note 7 as "painted" where in fact it is anodized, which much harder to scratch and actually if done right, can increase the life of its surface. Either way, the black note 7 will be more prone to visible scratches then the silver or blue models.

Hardness & toughness are interestingly work against each other mostly.
-Hardness increases, toughness decreases (material becomes more brittle)
-Toughness increases (material becomes more resistant to impacts), hardness decreases.
SO, IMHO there is no new formula in GG5. It is a modified GG4 which became more tough (to resist drop tests) but hardness dropped as expected.

Also, owners on Note 7 with painted frame should think twice if they want to put it in car phone holder which can wear off paint job pretty quick. My current Note 5 doesn't have such problem as frame is not painted.

before this , i truely believe ther Gorilla Glass 3 / 4 can make me free from screen protector. after 3 months , the whole screen are full of minor scratch.
better buy online for the RM8 temper glass . its more smooth & free from scratch than GG did.

So i have the Note 7 Coral Blue and in canada its detailed at 1059.99$....Now why the hell wouldnt you get a Case and a Tempered glass for the phone....its a very expensive device and protecting it should be your main concern. if you want a tougher phone get a Kyocera device. these Samsung devices are for performance and also showing off. always invest 10 to 20% of phone value for protection

My note 3 still runs super well. To a point where no need for even the note 7. I think if u want a longer lasting phone always buy international unlocked and dont root it.

Using a screen protector on what should be a top of the line scratch proof and shatter proof glass is just as stupid as putting a "bulky" case to protect a "premium and sexy slim" phone.

The catchy phrase "bonifide industry test " does not actually work in your defense, Bonifide meaning in good faith, for the industry, practically , a test that is in your favor, not a real world one ... anyway this is a deal break for me, as even my note 4 got little scratched before i applied a screen protector, and even with those small curves, the protector looks very bad, i can imagine how it will be with the note 7 ...
