Kostas, 19 Oct 2010I do not understand why people come here and complain about... moreMaybe you are wright i did not know about it.However, nowdays i do not thing that there will be a company to do this achievement again- regarding a smartphone.Unless nokia or an other company decides to make a phone with the same specs and sell it for 400$(maximum price).Nokia could do it with n8-except from the camera the other specs are not something unique-but they decided to sell it very expensive.

Meh, iphone really isnt a great phone. I can understand why so many people want it. Its now become a "follow the sheep" type of thing. I'm hanging out for the N8 to come out to get rid of my iphone 4. iphone 4 is the same as my 3GS. Need something new and better.

Interesting how the statement .. Oh, boy, is this a good time to be an Apple shareholder or what! appears.
I say this, because according to shareholders, they aren't happy with Apple's performance, mainly from the iPad. They can't make them quickly enough to sell and this is why Apple shares fell considerably. So while they make a profit, they are also making shareholders angry because of poor iPad sales.

Now, the real crap is, Apple actually say the whole bumper program cost them $100 million. (Refer to the conference). Lets make the most optimistic and fair calculation, assuming all 14m are Iphone 4 and not 3GS, each bumper cost apple 7 dollars! Are they trying to say they care for their customer, so they do not mind forking out $100million.

The sim free (unlocked iphone4) is the reason . And it doesnt mean that iphone is the best mobile phone . No flash no java no bluetooth . Camera from the stone age. Battery unchangable. No memory card . God give you something called (brain) please try to use it. Other manufactures like nokia sony ericsson etc. What makes them lose the battle is they try hard to copy iphone ! Stop it plz . We dont need more touch stupid screens.

it will be more nice if the news says that they are on top 5 because their product is good and they are on top 5 because they satesfies their clients with their service..
not that they are on top 5 because they make so much profit on over priced products.
theres plenty of 2nd hand iphone on bargain sale, it means people change their unit due to dissatesfaction..
who knows how many of this 14.1 million really enjoy their phone until the end.. some of it stays in their hands for just few days and then they re sell it..
anyway.. good job apple for making so much profit from the 14.1 people who bought your product..

Those bumper numbers are retail losses. At almost $30 a piece retail they can write off a lot of taxes that they would need to pay on profits. Those covers literally cost them 2-3 RMB per piece which is about $.30-$.50 per piece. 8 million of them would cost them close to nothing compared to the $100 million number they claimed. That claim is for them to use for taxes as they can claim losses. They are claiming losses in this case from the retail price end and not cost end. With this in mind they actually made a huge profit because of these bumpers because instead of having to pay taxes on profits they can deduct this amount and the amount deducted is extra cash in their pockets.

They need attention and are not getting it elsewhere. If you notice, they keep repeating the same things over and over.
Even if the iPhone could cure cancer, they would find something bad to say about it.

I'm sorry but Apple are the best at making the experience for the end user simple and enjoyable. They take the time to make sure their products are far more polished and that appeals to the majority of people. The are fantastic products, with a set purpose.
Although I myself get frustrated at time over some of the limitations and constraints, as a day to day phone to use for networking, email, calls and messaging there is nothing simpler and more efficient, all the while looking pretty.
If Android polishes itself up, I will move because I feel constrained by the iPhone at times, but until then it will be the most suitable phone for myself.
