very convenient, the pad is like a laptop almost, or even better. music can be blasting loud, and i'd prefer no contract since they'll give you a charge fee for cancelling at anytime including the monthly payment.. i'd also prefer pay-as-you-go offer plan, instead of monthly fees since they charged me almost 200$ in 2 months. go for the 9780 bb bold, i love it so far .

boogie, 21 Oct 2010hahaha who would honestly in 2010 buy this the rim tower is... moreThe RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 was the #1 selling cell phone last year. RIM is not falling.

People that are looking for a real, quality phone instead of a frivolous device with flashing icons and widgets will get a BlackBerry. Android and iOS may have all the bells and whistles, but the functionality of a true, reliable smartphone is missing. My Curve 8310 has outlasted most people's iPhones and iPods. And BlackBerrys can handle games over 300kb. I am running one that is 725kb, and the Bold 9870 with be able to handle much much more.

boogie, 21 Oct 2010hahaha who would honestly in 2010 buy this the rim tower is... moreI got news for you. The market that buys bb is not the same that would buy iphone etc. The bb is a communications device above all else. The keyboard, blackberry server etc make it an ideal tool for that. Heck, I have a N900 from Nokia but am changing to a blackberry for this very reason.

hahaha who would honestly in 2010 buy this the rim tower is falling down I mean imagine havin this on a 2 year contract. You'll be so outdated by then >.< . And the processor is so weak reminds me of samsung bakc in the day the only phones (D600, D900 and U600) that could handle games as long they didn't exceed 300kb. same here with rim I hate to be the bogie man but this is reality as it stands now: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703631704575552262869819460.html?mod=WSJ_Tech_LEFTTopNews

624mhz is BB's magic number, from 9000 to 9700 to 9800. I'm pretty sure this one will also carry the good old 624.

it is the best looking blackberry out there for me at least and the best when it comes to hardcore typing of text, emails you name it....(blackberry bold 9000) the true legend, the real bold!!!!

I dont' really think this is a 9700 upgrade... Probably a good upgrade from Curve, or Pearls for users looking for something in Berries but need an upgrade. 9000 is still one of the best phones out there, even if the OS looks dull. Its solid.

Right. I will probably purchase this as an upgrade but frankly it is PATHETIC. Look at what Manufacturers like HTC and Apple are offering and look at this. We don't ask blackberry to be at the cutting edge, not at all but this is bordering on an insult. ITS THE SAME HANDSET. After over a year all they could be bothered doing was upping the RAM (because they had to for the new OS) and increasing the camera MP....because without the camera boost, this would still be a 9700(incidentally the quality is STILL lousy). The OS is acceptable at best, don't kid yourselves: this isn't windows mobile 7. All in all, a one fingered salute to loyal RIM customers. Thanks alot.
