high time HP starts shipping pre to south east asian countries.I guess palm has a better market down asia than the west.

Its hit a miss with this phone. If they wish to sell some phones then they will have to buck up. As Apple & Samsung and Android phones are dominating. Notice I have not mentioned Nokia! 3 years ago all my friends had a Nokia, now non of them do, am talking a good 20 people 100% certain of.

i hope the app store for webos gets available in se-asia too. i called a palm customer service and said not all countries at this point can access the app store.

Good combo YES (maybe) in terms of form factor to OS match up.Previous sales performance?A definite HELL NO.And this is on top of not so insignificant amount of ex/current Pre Plus users with shoddy build qualities.
I'm rooting for Palm I really do.But if this is the manner HPalm sending out a stopgap model (yup that's what this Pre 2 is no going around that) and still are bent on that old skewed intent of going straight for iOS' crown in NA market + slow ass international market spread then HP are forgetting why and how they have spent BILLIONS for Palm in the 1st place.

Realy disappointing, im one of the few people who has liked the Pre and its WebOS since the beginning, but now it seems like Palm have been asleep, 3.1inch HVGA display, 5mp cam with no AF, and only 16GB in their flagship smartphone? I hope the price will be much lower than before as this simply isn't the iPhone competitor it once was.

Pre and it's webOS are actually great combination. After using Android playtoys which feel like other Google software (always in beta) it is refreshing to come to Pre where everything just works. And I actually like the physical keyboard and smaller form factor much better than black slab Androids I had before. So, Palm Pre is actually very good phone.

Palm what? I only remember using Omnisky with my good old Palm Vx that's the first 'mobile' networking device; after 10+ years Palm's coming back with bunch crappy phones I'm just so confused.

It only needs good marketing. If winmo is willing to throw away a billion dollar to market its kin and WP7, then it simply means that the existing dominant products are really hard to beat to make a name.

It may not have a huge application base but it does the basics much better than a lot of phones up there with it... She gets better performance out of her Pre that I get out of my N97.
