SPay is more versatile than APay since it does not require new equipment to accept it, since it uses both NFC (APay+ PayPass) and Magnetic Secure Transmission (chip readers or swipe). Also, a lot of phones supports it, from high-end (obviously) to middle-end.

As well biometric authorization... e.g. many banks now uses finger print scanner, but only accepts apple devices...

Obviously that is speculation, but I agree there must be somebody behind the scene trying to hinder Samsung efforts..

Anonymous, 24 Aug 2016Yet isn't out in the UK, this was a main selling point for ... moreIf you bought a Samsung flagship you wern't conned you bought the best phone the market had to offer. However like myself you have been disapointed this app has taken so long. What I have gleaned is that the Americans ( read..the same people who are glad to keep apple ahead of Samsung.) Visa or Mastercard, have thus far denied Samsung use of MST in the Uk, thus damaging the big advantage draw of their system to new users, and whilst this wrangle has gone on, good ol apple have been given their head start, the plan is, the longer this is kept up, the more of the Uk will have the newest machines, so people will not need to switch from apple to use Samsungs MST. You get to overhear a lot at the right time in the right coffe shop. Should have been simple, but looks like some one with unlimited money has pulled some strings. I suppose it also has a second benefit,( this bits just my own personal thought.) this serves as a vehicle to try and get the public angry with Samsung in an effort to stop a few of their phones selling, but app or no app , they're the best money can buy, right now, so, that part of the equation should not succeed.

I had to use it 2 times when I didn't have my credit card on me... One NFC and one MST.
Used a bunch of other times just for fun.. haha
