iOS does not allow apps to access secure areas. That includes system communications (messages, calls, ...) it does allow for notification sharing by bluetooth.

This is not going to change with this ios app for gear. Ive been using the beta for a month now. Its called Gear Manager Lite because its very stip down. cant reply to messages...

      Its definately better than nothing

The newest firmware for samsung removes the numbersync option from the watch. So it you download this old beta ios app (which does not have number sync) you'll have to do without numbersync until you get the new beta ios app.

I have been using the leaked iOS Gear Manager for my 6 plus and the att 4g Gear S2 since May, and although it crashed from time to time, it worked well most of the time. I have been able to receive and make calls from the S2 on short errands without my iPhone .

Romie Lee, 25 Aug 2016Wow! Is this mean, this Samsung watch will run iOS isn't it?No it just means iOS is slowly opening its walled garden, so its compatible with smartwatches that don't use iOS.

iPhone users are in general Apple Fans and if they want a smartwatch would probably go for the Apple watch. I think it is a waste of resources and efforts by Samsung here.
