All these changes are because nokia sacked their CEO, CTO, head of user experience, and another couple of big bosses. CEO is now thus Canadian guy, head of user experience is from Palm.
So even if nokia do get out of the hole they are in, it's because they are practically a different company.

You must be having a laugh! N97 owners are still waiting for that 3.0 update and been waiting a mighty long time. So don't start talking "Nokia Cares" coz Nokia have clearly been the worst when it comes to updates and upgrades. Nokia phones were never compatible with newer versions of their OS coz they always used weak and cheap hardware which couldn't handle newer versions.
Nokia are only trying to back into the game in the high end sector N8 looks like a start but WP7 just dropped could be a party pooper.

5ushi, 21 Oct 2010Well, we need Nokia to stay health for some decent competit... moreSo true. I miss what they used to represent. I still remember my Nokia 6230i... Nothing big at all... At the time though, it was the first phone I had seen to support any type of memory expansion. It was a standard SD card, but it existed.
They're hardly competition now. They lost me when I bought my first high-end from them... The N97. I will NEVER trust them again. But still, yay Nokia I guess.

It's all in one word "Symbian" now :) that's really great.
Wise decision from Nokia.

writing this from my N8 and loving it. The only thing that lacks is a decent web browser but nokia has promised a new one :) opened 16 heavy apps and it doesn't lag. Call me old school but symbian ui looks more mature, and with the software updates coming up, perfect OS :)

This is the best news I've heard from Nokia
Support is everything nowadays, if they can maintain it they will success in the long run.
keeping the software updated is a must and that's what will make Nokia bigger in smartphone arena.

[deleted post]By the way, i can also choose to use a single access point for all apps or use one for some and another for some others.
Symbian is the only consumer os, mobile or otherwise, that is capable of running multiple apps with unique access points simultaneously and tunneling their connections seperately. Not even windows 7 can do this. Thats symbian. Endless possibilities. The long lists of options that symbian haters (most of whom have very low iqs) hate are what endears symbian to its users. The functionality is unmatched. The possibilities are endless. Its not technology, its what you do with it. Its not how fast your cpu is or how big your ram or battery is, its what you can achieve with it. Go symbian go.

I had a very bad experience dealing with Nokia service centre.
The Motto is Nokia Connecting People. Recalling the incident, I think Nokia is Disconnecting People instead. They failed to listen to their customer and chose to be the one doing the talking and end up with no response at all. I can see how their market share is shrinking fast. Good luck.
