Dude , 1 GB RAM more than A5 2016, that's kind of huge differences ,maybe 7880 processor works as fluid as flagship .

Mirkran, 30 Aug 2016Well, it means Exynos 7880 could be a relatively minor upgr... moreBut as per the specs 7880 is a huge upgrade over 7870. 7870 is octacore A53 while 7880 is 4*A72 + 4*A53 but is built in 28nm. Mali t860 should be better than t760 found in s6. but the performance might depend upon the core counts. We can only hope for now till it becomes official. which phone do u sport now btw ?

AnonD-197278, 30 Aug 2016yes, as per the scores i believe it is a 7870 octa A53. sco... moreWell, it means Exynos 7880 could be a relatively minor upgrade over the 7870, not the would-be competitor of the SD652. I'm thinking A5 (2017) will come in two variants, just like the A5 (2016): one with SD625 and other with this Exynos 7880. I hope the GPU in the 7880 (whichever it may be), is on par with the Adreno 506 (which has a very good 3D performance for its class).

Mirkran, 29 Aug 2016But the score displayed on Geekbench hints at a device with... moreyes, as per the scores i believe it is a 7870 octa A53. scores are similiar.even if its is, it will be much better than the Snapdragon 615 used in A5 2016 due to the 14nm fabrication vs 28nm and mali t830 is not that bad i guess.

AnonD-197278, 29 Aug 2016No.... This exynos soc has almost same configuration with ... moreBut the score displayed on Geekbench hints at a device with a chipset similar to SD625, like a slightly overclocked Exynos 7870. It'd be great if A5 (2017) has a SD652-like chipset, but don't get your hopes high.

For a chipset using Cortex-A72 cores, its single core score is too low. We know SD652 (with a similar core configuration and fabrication process) is on the 1400-1500 mark, so it doesn't make sense. GPU wise, Mali-T860MP4 is inferior (if only slightly) to Adreno 510.

Oh my. I see Sammy continues its long standing tradition of putting out phones with the soon-to-be-obsolete version of Android. No doubt because Touchwiz (sorry, Grace UX. You say to-may-to, I say to-mah-to) is still so extensive i.e. heavy that by the time said phone would release, it would take like half a year for the Sammy alterations to work satisfactorily with the rest of the OS. So instead they just release it as is, and if people buy it in droves, maybe, just maybe it'll get the relevant software update. And of course by then the next version of stick Android will have rolled out.
Maybe Sammy should clean house. I'm curious if HTC's approach with the 10 will work and they will indeed offer Nougat quicker that Sammy for the 7th Stupendous Galaxy...or if they pull a bait'n switch. Here's hoping it'll aid my decision of switching to either a future HTC flagship (if they continue the trend) or some future Nexus.

AnonD-292864, 29 Aug 2016This will be a really good mid-range phone. It will have 4x... moreYour mentioned cpu (you probably meant snapdragon 652) would score ~1650 single core and ~6000 multi core, which is much better than the score shown in this gsmarena post. Galaxy A5 (2017) will give us the performance of a budget 2015 device for 2x the price of devices like these in 2015. Around 300-350$ price is guaranteed. This is insane pricing, but people still buy products like this expecting it to be better than others just because it's samsung.

yall whine too much, yet yall are the very same people that buy this sht from Samsung. Go to China & see how much phones they dish out like there's no tomorrow. To put things in perspective, Nokias of old puts up their phones on shelves more than the # of $ you pay for this sht.
