Moto Z Droid and Z Force Droid get their first software updates, July security patch included

Motorola says these are the latest security updates, but the fixes for August have been pushed out by Google weeks ago.

I have the Moto Z Force Droid from Verizon Wireless. The phone seemed fine until the phone was recently updated with a patch for Android 6.0.1. Now all of my notification tones and ringtones are much lower in volume and very difficult to hear in all but the quietest of environments. As a result, I am missing text messages, e-mails and even calls. I went to VZ to have them check the phone, and it seems this issue afflicts this handset, but not all of the Moto phones. This is more than a nuisance, and I am concerned that it might not be fixed with the next upgrage (Nougat?) if ever.

    but you need to understand eliminate 90% of discovered security problems is not enough and hackers may still find a way to get your credit card infomation.

    One thing I got confued that you said "they don't need to make it a monthly thing" on the other hand you also said "Do it whenever you find em."

    99.9% of people wont noticed their phone is hacked and getting hacked doesnt mean you will lose money. Hackers can just simplely selling users informaiton in batches and you will start receiving strange texts, email or even calls.

    In the end, hackers only need one security problems to access to your phone.

      There is always someone that could out smart you. Turning off NFC and Bluetooth are just make you less exposure to attackers. Please stop saying like your mobile is 100% safe. In fact, timely update just make you more secure.

      When your phone got hacked, they can steal all your information within mins. Do you think update once a few months would be enough?

      On the other hand, Even if turning off short range network can give you full resistance to hackers, do you think how many people would actually do it?

      Chance to get hacked is low that I agree, but when it happen on you, it's not a joke.

If you have a fingerprint enabled device 90% of your security problems are eliminated. What actual security I would like to see from Apple and Google is that nobody can just switch off any device until they unlock it first (which they can right now).
        Credit cards and sensitive information can be and should be more secure but security patches wont help especially since they occasionally have bugs. Vulnerabilities should be fixed and patched but they don't need to make it a monthly thing. Do it whenever you find em. I have never seen anybody who has had their phone hacked. Ever. Most issues regarding Malware, Spyware and other such stuff is linked to third-party markets like Mobogenie and bogus ads on dubious sites. Most hack vulnerabilities require you to pair your device through Bluetooth or NFC. So just switch both these off til you need em. Don't pair with people you dont trust.

          People has been using their phone for banking and now as a credit card. Are you seriously still thinking security is not relevant?

If you want absolute effing security buy a secure BB. Quadrooter isn't ever going to affect you even if you are on an old device on KitKat. As for those who claim security patches on Samsung devices, your device has Touchwiz and nothing can save you from it.

              AnonD-571933, 30 Aug 2016Stop whining, you've got 0.0001% chance of catching that ma... moreMy Two and Half year old Galaxy S5 got august patch Update like a week ago,so has my Galaxy S6 and my moms Galaxy Note 5.All are official and are on 6.0.1.And then they say Samsung is Bad at Software Updates,well atleast they deliver Monthly security update for even 2 and half year old flagships in time.Motorla cant Deliver their promise of frequent updates anymore.Only Google,Apple,Samsung and oneplus maybe Xiaomi have resources to deliver timely update(Of Big companies) and im not including phones i havent used.

Most current phones don't even have the July security patch anyway. Also, while you download everything from Google Play and not weirdass infected websites, you're just fine.

                    September security patch is coming in a few days and Moto Z - their newest mobile just received July update which did not patch the Quadrooter.

                      Those who purchased or will purchase these devices were smart people who understand a flagship doesn't need to be Samsung or Apple if you need value and quality.
