Verizon-bound Moto Z Play Droid gets pictured with 3.5mm jack in tow

Hello all,
I'm in the process of changing my mvno. I now have 5 lines with Cricket (At&t) and use a OP3. I have recently moved and now need Verizon's network. I am planning on moving 4 lines to Total Wireless (TW) and dropping the last. So I'm preparing for the conversion, and will be needing new phones. I like the ZTE Axon 7 but what I really want is the "Moto Z Driod Play" ( https://www.motorola.com/us/products/moto-z-play-droid ) on TW. So I've been reading for what seems like days and need some help or clarification. I chatted with a rep on moto's site and asked him that very question. Can I activate a Moto Z Driod Play on a mvno like "Streight Talk" or "Total Wireless"? He said yes, just use the BYOP option and it'd be no problem. I then found this link ( https://www.motorola.com/us/carrier-compatibility ), which seems to contradict what the rep told me. Although the Moto X Pure and Moto G's seem like they'd work fine. I have called TW customer service and they said it would not be a problem so long as i wasn't under contract to Verizon. They told me to get the IMEI and that they could check it. Problem is to do that I'd have to buy the phone. It seems that they do not even list the IMEI's in ebay auctions any more. I found a link where I could check ( https://www.totalwireless.com/wps/portal/home/h/check-compatibility ) though I do not have an IMEI.
I didn't think phones could really be locked any more but it sure seems that way. Maybe the Axon 7 would be a better idea?
I was hoping that someone that really knows and understands the process could give me some pointers. I would really appreciate it

The most we get is a little printed logo ... moreEE install a lo-jacker, made by Absolute Software (US company) which re-installs itself on your OS every time you boot. Interestingly enough, they make the same kinda thing for PC's and laptops. They can read the BIOS of your device, then re-compile it with the lo-jack installed. Then no matter how many times you replace storage volume, you are always infected.
Not sure what I'd rather have....

As far as I'm aware, they are the only company that do this now. Orange used to be bad for this, but since EE bought them out, it's just o2 that I know of.

16 GB is pretty low. Other leaks have shown it would have 32 GB. Why the cutback?

Last year moto x play used to heat up and was also bulky, but this time z play has good processor and slim thickness. I would like get it.

I don't understand what Verizon is up to, they add adware as bloatware. Something called DTignite, which installs apps randomly without telling you, whenever it feels like it. Or so I've heard. Luckily in the UK we don't have anything near as bad in terms of carrier bloat. Its pretty much negligible.
Although you can disable DTignite, it'll clearly be annoying to casuals.

Between bloat and 3.5mm jack, or no bloat and no jack, definitely I chose the jack option. Bloat is easy to remove, even if it wasn't it wouldn't be much of an issue anyway with as much storage and RAM phones have nowadays.
