Here is MY Z10 -v- PRIV- v- DTEK50

Despite the beefed up security of the DTEK50 these are NOT upgrades
Android albeit with a Blackberry wrapper / design oversight whatever you want to call it was an instant turn off for those on BB 10 OS and so the Priv did NOT retain the previous Blackbery owner

FYI there hav e been none / zero / zip nadir security patches required

Blackberry could make some $$$ by releasing a BB 10 os of the Priv
Apple NOT for altruistic reasons realaesed the IphoneSE so reversting to another 4"
Blackbeery seem determined to be a Licensed Android phone seller

Nobody else is committed to providing the security updates that BlackBerry has done for the past year since switching to Android. Only Nexus devices come close, but that is multiple manufacturers.

Plus governments cannot ask Blackberry for access they must ask a judge first before contacting Blackberry. Plus in many cases Blackberry was not involved at all because people were using 3rd party security solutions on a Blackberry phone, which was hacked but not the Blackberry device itself. The vulnerabilities were introduced by the 3PG software or whatever they are called. You make multiple false statements.

Anonymous, 31 Aug 2016This is the Blackberry Playbook all over again.. How is it another Playbook? It is not a tablet, it does not run BBOS, the hardware was not made or designed by Blackberry and it is a phone that is already known to be reasonably successful. Nothing at all like a playbook whatsoever. Not to mention the Playbook was a fantastic product and I still use mine to this day. The majority of people dissing Playbooks have never even tried one.

If you use your iPhone like a smartphone (aka what Android users do) then you would come to a fatal and inevitable fact: no amount of optimization is enough to overcome a drop in capacity of double-digits (% vs the bigger battery), specially when most power draw doesn't come from CPU bound tasks (where your optimization could count) but rather from the screen backlight, the wireless radios, your GPS and other peripheral sensors.

Even when gaming that optimization is moot (battery-wise), since the games will always try to go for the highest FPS rather than saving battery.

iPhones aren't magical, their average user is just different.
Power-users on the Apple camp always complain about their battery life (that barely lasts a day).

Any product that doeant pay attention to good camera and battery more than 3000mah is likely to fail no matter how good it may be! Sadly same is the case with BB DTEK

The Alcatel version costs 299€ VAT incl. There is a gap of 40€ but for this amount, you've Android optimized by Blackberry with all the Blackberry apps and also frequent updates.

Blackberry DTK50 is the first Qualcomm device who received a patch for QuadRooter and they are already planning to organize the best software follow up of all the Android manufacters. Try to be like your phone, smart...

Such an overpriced phone. I am sure I will get fire from BB fans about that super security nonsense, like they are some kind of James Bond, and have been hacked several times with they regular Android. They still forgetting that every government agency can ask BB to access and they will give them in no time, especially in North America.
