Lenovo Yoga Book is official with a unique Halo Keyboard with Windows or Android

31 August, 2016
Its killer feature is its flat keyboard called Halo Keyboard. It doubles as a writing surface, as it is pressure sensitive, and comes with self-learning features such as predictive input, auto-correct and auto-complete.

What is the technology this "halo keyboard" uses?
The same E-INK used in Kindle and most ebooks?

I like. What I wish, and this could have been done already earlier, is a keyboard layout change. Why use the mechanical (typewriter) keyboard with asymmetrically staggered keys?

Full HD on that size tablet = Sad

viveksubhash, 31 Aug 2016the idea is good(and wacom the same thing as samsung notes?... moreWacom is a Japanese company that specializes in graphics tablets, in addition to manufacturing and selling tablets, Wacom also provides graphical input technology for some tablet computers, Wacom tech is notable for their use of battery-free and pressure-sensitive stylus or digital pen, so yes, they provide the tech to the Galaxy Note phablets and Microsoft Surface tablets for example.

Great looking device, not as powerful as a surface pro, but still great for design with wacomtech. I know its not meant to be a phone, but has similar features/specs to the note 7 at half the cost.

We didn't have great haptic feedback tech and it's much better today. If you can emulate a feeling of a physical key it will feel natural to you. My only concern is the little nubs that are in the f and j keys as I feel for those to position my fingers. But I do see the nubs are there so wonder how they go about implementing that.

Acer swift 7 get rekt new thinnest champ. This could easily handle 7th gen i5 Y series chip though

i think acer iconia had a similar setup..it did not run..anywhere...
i think a surface/ipad pro is good enough..may be useful for graphic designer but can't they just buy a slate?

Nice design. They should have launched it in a little bigger screen size. If the capacitative keyboard is accurate then it could very well work out.

srbb, 31 Aug 2016not really, the best compromise is like the 12" Macbook keyboardlol yeah, nice flat keyboard...
though this keyboard has a different aproach and depending on the use is more than just a keyboard, i'm won't say is a godlike device (at least for me it isn't) but the tech can be really helpfull and in a couple of months (maybe a year or so) this can be a great advance with a couple of tweaks ;)

the best thing about this keyboard that i can imagine is that it wont get as dirty as the the normal ones (some of them are waaaay to dirty XD)

The entire point of a physical keyboard - physical keys - removed, and replaced by something the screen, or a secondary screen (seen that once) could do.
Sorry but no thanks. Nice concept, looks exactly like these future PCs we see in movies, but there is a reason for not having this for some years already, despite having the technology.

Capacitive keyboard? Dun think any of us will get used to it. Even on phones I still prefers physical keyboard like the one on BB priv over on screen keyboard.

While the keyboard is fancy, it's too expensive for just 64GB of storage and intel atom cpu.
