Samsung confirms Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic aren't being discontinued

01 September, 2016
As you might already know, Samsung has launched the Gear S3 smartwatch. While that's certainly good news for Samsung fans, what does this mean for the previous generation Gear S2? Will it be discontinued?

I like the look and the functionality, but this is the last Samsung smartwatch I will buy, the vibration is so wick that it makes the watch useless.

My S2 updated fine, no problem encountered at all and, like the previous poster, I don't know anyone who had a problem.

As long as the updates does not brick my S2 like the previous update did. Still have to get it swapped out :(

Gear S2 looks like a modern version of Gear S3.

Let's hope Gear S4 will be a refined Gear S2 with bigger screen. I prefer the sleek design. Thin bezel, thin case (height) while having same battery capacity as Gear S2 would be enough for always-on through the whole day. I for myself put the watch to the same place, every night. So charging it everyday isn't a matter. (But smartphones... a different story...)

since the S3, like the Gear S are mammoth watches its normal to keep a normal dimension watch
