01 September, 2016
The big Axon 7 had a beefy Snapdragon 820, the Axon 7 mini is more modest.

Snapdragon 617 really? Might as well be Mediatek at that point.

625 is the bare minimum at this point for the 14nm power savings at least.

Nice to see ZTE announcing the Axon7 mini...
My question is : will this one even see the light of day ?
I'm asking because it seems that the Axon 7 has turned to be the hugest vaporware of 2016 !
I've seen it in presentation. I even held it in my hands.
I would like to buy it...
But no one sells it !
Not in Europe, neither in China :-(

AnonD-237381, 01 Sep 2016People don't get that mini doesn't stand to size only, mini... morelol it has nothing to do with the internals and everything to do with the dimensions of the device. If it had anything to do with the internals it would make every phone that isn't a flag ship a "mini", which is not the case.

A mini is a phone that is less than 5 inches and closer to 4.7.. which is much more suitable for single handed use by people with smaller hands. A screen size over 5" is not a mini... though it is in relation to the proper Axon, but barely.

AnonD-237381, 01 Sep 2016People don't get that mini doesn't stand to size only, mini... morewell yeah the naming is getting everyone confused... but taking ur example... if the mini hamburguer dish had 5 hamburguers (meaning less) would u call it a mini?? just for one less hamburguer, i think ppl expect the "mini" versions to have a lot less and that's why they expect the body to be that minimun (cuz nobody wants 8GB storage and 512 Ram to be the mini)
either way, ZTE can call it a mini and other can prefer call it compact, it doesn't make a difference as long as the one selling understands what u want ;) have a nice day

People don't get that mini doesn't stand to size only, mini in this case is in the internals of the phone, so stop complaining, if you want a compact phone just buy one Xperia Z5 Compact or an iPhone SE.
For example, when I go to Outback Steakhouse, they have a dish that consists in 6 small hamburgers, but they also have a "mini" version of it, the hamburgers aren't smaller, instead it comes with less burgers, only 3.

Why would you make a mini be content with what you have so what if they wanted a smaller phone tell them by another phone you just can't please people they're never satisfied

So it is not a mini version then just like all the other so called minis, it is just a mid range phone. A mini is an exact replica of the original just smaller. I accept the drop in screen resolution and perhaps smaller battery but nothing else.

Would gladly add $20 for a SD625 swap...

Hate it when companies name their devices 'mini' with their 5.2"... That's normal nowadays !
Call 4.5" mini, i'll get that, 5.0 nothing, and 5.5 phablet. At least, that how it works for me.

ssbatman21, 01 Sep 2016$400 means around 27k. in india thats very expensive consi... more400 USD is for the big Axon 7 😑

lousy trash company that makes crappy devices. don;t be deceived by the price tag and specs on paper. real life usage is horrible, total regrets.

thats very expensive considering the chipset and brand recognition.
oneplus 3 is for 28k for comparison.
i think they should have used sd650/652 and gone for 17-19k price bracket. thats around $270-280
