And that is why you say Android as your only alternative, not Windows Phone, or Symbian Nokia, or BlackBerry with BBOS. It's because of the apps, and that is software.

I'm already set for having no 3.5mm headphone jack & still being able to play music as it charges, it's called an inexpensive Bluetooth adapter. I will eventually get Bluetooth headphones but I have many pairs of wired headphones/earphones that I want to still use them. Problem solved!!! If they come with something that makes listening to music & charging easier then so be it, it will be a bonus, but I doubt it will.

Since phones are getting slimmer, it's obvious we won't see headphone jack in them, its the future.

I own pretty much every Apple device and I'm really pissed at them for not giving what consumer want. I have no problem if they remove 3.5 mm jack but atleast provide one wireless headphones if you're replacing it! This is plainly stupid and besides 6S flopped because they did nothing new with it, useless 3D touch is awful. I'm due for an upgrade and I'm pretty sure I will go S7 Edge cause it offers way more than just a software. I won't be sticking to Apple if they fail to give atleast 1 hardware feature just like previous successful versions...No wonder their are falling behind

I will dump my iMac / Macbook Pro if it does not support CD-ROM, floppy drive, and serial port!! (Look at nowadays PC)
I will dump Apple's phone for changing from 30 pin to lightning port! (Look at micro usb to usb-c)
They just a trend starter.. Don't worry so much, Move to samesung if you want, you might delay the headphone jack for a few more years.. but then you will face the same music again. Because everyone copies Apple sooner or later. Better move ahead or be left behind crying.

That would be a great idea for preorder bonus as it has been working wonders for samsung this year.
