I wonder what would have happened had the issue been with Apple. We would have seen official statement from Apple like, "The battery is OK. But the people are just not charging phone properly. Phones should be charged in a cool dry place and less than 100%".

(Remember antenna gate? "People are not holding the phone right ;) )

Don't worry Samsung wall huggers, you can still hug the wall in airports, you just won't be going anywhere.

[deleted post]The one who should be apologizing is the parents of half the people commenting here, since they didn't ensure that you learned to read. What I said is entirely true, and you have implicitly agreed with me the moment you replied with your vitriol without saying why I was wrong. So thanks! :-)

It's interesting to see how much fuss is made about the note 7 battery recall.. How many companies have recalled bad laptop batteries? Just Google battery recall list. The unfortunate thing for Samsung is that the batteries a are embedded and therefore hard to replace, with all related inconveniences... But besides that, all other discussion is related to Samsung's dominant position in the market.

Painful? Yes. End of Samsung? No.

Third class phone with Third class battery. Serve them right for not properly testing the battery and rushing to launch note 7. This will teach Samsung a good lesson. LOL>

Seems like a fair decision. This way they may actually prevent a disaster if they plan on banning them.
It must suck big time to be a Sammy fan right now, specially for those the actually bought the Nuclear 7 :))

This battery issue has cast a huge shadow for Samsung. People might not bother too much with certain stuff but it all changes when there's a safety hazard involved.

not targeting apple in particular, but i must say this happens a lot nowadays...the quality control is really bad.

All this is happening exactly because of corporate greed.

The non-removable battery is programmed obsolesce, forcing you to start thinking about purchasing a new device after 12 months, when your battery starts to degrade fast.

This must be the best shot for Apple to skyrocket sales of the same 2 years old device.

                                    Hard luck Sammy,

I think they should come up with Titanium built Note 8 to compete.

Galaxy S7 design are very similar to the Note 7. S7 owners will probably get problem with it on airport and thus people would avoid to buy whole Samsung seven series.
