Xiaomi setting up another assembly unit in India

07 September, 2016
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, which already has an assembly plant in India, is setting up another unit in the country. The second plant is also located in Sri City (in the state of Andhra Pradesh), and has been set up in collaboration with Foxconn, just like the first one.

Meg, 07 Sep 2016Oh no.... the quality is going to go downhill now...When Redmi note 3 was initially launched in India Xiaomi brought units from china and amazon reviews were full of built issues. But when 'Made in India' handsets started to arrive there were no issues. Redmi had to do so many replacements from 'Made in chin'a units to made in India units. Also the review ratings jumped from 2.5 to 4+. And Redmi note 3 became no.1 in online sales in India.
All those so called awesome built Nokia phones were made in India.

I believe their won't be any flash sale for upcoming xiaomi devices.*only open sales*
But they should also focus on after sale services.

This is good news but I hope they start doing strict QC over their newer stock. Many people have been having various issues with the Redmi 3S and Prime.

Assembly will not make much difference in product quality. Quality remains the same. only pricing can vary. Product quality depends on basic comp. like chipset, display & cells.

Indian companies are manufacturing their products in China and importing to India. While xiaomi is manufacturing its products in India. Sounds good.

I believe a lot of these shortages are artificial and not real to increase the value & demand for their phones

Here's to hoping that there will be a constant supply of their phones and not a shortage during their flash sales.
