Everytime i get new iphone (not this time), like a lot of people, I just ignore the their 3.5mm headphones for these reasons:
1. The shape and material of their headphones hurt my ears in prolonged use.
2. Earbuds are not reversible. (not good when been running for 45minutes, concentrating on my breathing and pace and conserving energy,..... having to divert attention which earbuds goes where when it drops.
3. Keeps falling off during my running sessions.
4. Quality is mediocre at best.
AND NOW......
Airpods with iPhone 7 adds this problem.
5. If this tiny little things drop off my ear. and it goes to a drain.
Added to the fact that its not rubberized, really uncomfortable for my ear fit.

i have only one question. if these Airpods are good, why apple haven't replaced the old one and put them in the pack of 7. in current situation you have to buy a device thet can't use old 3.5 mm jacks headsets and have a 3.5 mm headset!!!

$159, just too much. also, the design very similar to existing wired ear set, very easy to slip out. there would be lots to be found on floor, in toilet seats ...

Next they'll release an "innovative" "AirPod safety band" that fixes them together and charge extra for --that--, too.. and claim to be the first people to think of it....

Wireless headphones are just one more thing that I need to charge every night = MORE cables, and I constantly have to worry about the battery in the headphones and these look like very easy to accidentally lose one of them because they are not connected to each other and are very small! This is the beginning of the end for iPhones and for Apple!

mir, 08 Sep 2016Truly expensive Airpods...To be fair all of these sorts of headphones are around that cost. Samsung's are $200 iirc, although I'm not sure of the differences. Can't say I care to check though, its such a niche market that would pay for this sort of thing.

AnonD-551566, 07 Sep 2016yeah probably initial pairing might be needed, same concept... morenokia used to make really cool bluetooth devices...i have used a bh 503, and a bh214..still have the 214, last time i turned it on after let it gather dust for 1yr or so..and the freaking thing turned on nad ran for an hour before i got bored..it could also power full over the ear headphones of your choice.....also got a philips tapster shb7110..you have to check it out..it uses a moderate sound redirection tech(i really dont know what that is) that directs sound to ear canal, An sports a touch and touch gesture control..like swipe up for increasing volume. it also had that ear proximity detection....
