So they waited for Apple to announce their iPhone before they make the deluxe available? Seriously Asus get your shit together!
Why does everyone have to compare them self to apple?
The OS-War is over. Android won! Just look at the numbers of users using Android on a global scale!
Apple is used by hipsters and people who are not Tech Savy. Believe me I used to do private IT services for Apple users they are the dumpest users out there. Just because they use apple products they thought about them "as being special". They had no freaking Idea what a router was or what it even did. One of them even had two running. Guess what the second was an apple router. He bought it just because he thought it would be better. Turned out it was worse! And not even fit for its provider line!
So everyone stop comparing Oranges and Apples. Apples just don't taste as good!

shi**y company with underwhelming aftersales and even in android updates...my zf5 is still on kitkat(have tried the lillipop which was buggy)and my zf2 is still on lollipop...even the official marshmallow for ze551ml is so much buggy that they released a downgrade to lollipop....who the heck will pay fortune for such a company..

Old phones running with SD820 costs now approx. 50% less compared to new phones running SD821. Makes sense to buy 50% cheaper phone and dispense with 10% CPU power, don't you think?

So, we will expect ASUS to become a 2nd HT... morezte axon 7 and oneplus 3 are just $400 and are much better than this overpriced phone...the zte axon 7 has a quad hd amoled screen and oneplus 3 has massive 6gb ram..dont understand how asus is going to sell this phone..poor pricing by asus

in india note 7 is for around INR 60K and sd821 version zenfone is for INR 63k.
why wud anyone pay 3k more for inferior display, inferior camera, inferior after sales support, just to show off 20% extra horsepower on sd820?????
i am very sure the real life difference between ss820 and sd821 will be impossible to see..

@ $800 with unproven quality yet on phone manufacturing is an expensive thing. The true worth of a phone is its endurance, performance, and maintenance from the company. As a new player in phone manufacturing, they should have started at a very reasonable price to test its worth for the phone

So, we will expect ASUS to become a 2nd HTC (High price, poor sales, low profit, creeping management, dissappointing history; it is so miserable that I want to buy one to help but I don't earn money by sitting down!).
Some Eastern companies (especially Taiwanese ones) must understand that brand name value is IMPORTANT. Without being an Apple or Samsung (the only 2 high value brand names who can sell phones at high prices), you can't put a price at their level. NOBODY would buy a 800-USD priced ASUS phone. Even you put Snapdragon SD823 (brought from future), 32GB RAM, IP68, AMOLED 6" with zero frame, 5000mAh battery etc. etc., it can't have the same price as Apple and Samsung. Try it Asus and see by yourself. It is sad but true. You are NOT an Apple or Samsung. Period.
