Desktop Bridge apps now available on the Windows Store

16 September 2016
Earlier this year, Microsoft had announced the Desktop Bridge that would allow developers to migrate their desktop apps to the new Modern UI and make them available on the Windows Store. The company has announced that these apps are now being made available for download on all Windows 10 devices, including computers, smartphones, and Xbox One.

      1. play dolphin emulator nearly full speed (arm cant)
      2. play playstation 2 games
      3. play pc games like gta 5 at lower resolution, if it can play gta 5 then so many games are playable
4.run full x86 programs and mobile programs

good example check device called GPD win its 5.5inch device run full windows,

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5sFfOSLEDY

then in my previous post i didnt say surface phone should have atom cpu, if you dont know current core m soc (skylake one) can be configured to run at 3.8 watts, it cant be used in smartphone but intel has plan to use it. untill 2017 when surface is ready two generation will pass, kabylake 14nm core m and canonlake 10nm core m, untill then intel will figure out how to reduce power consumption of core m.

if you saw dell anouncement of kabylake xps 13 you will see how battery life was improved up to 22hours, that is good sign core m kabylake wont consume more power compare to skylake one

And guess what? IT SUCKS; higher battery consumption with lower performance, even to that MediaTek SoCs.

Like I said several months before, in order to make WP, Bridge, or "One Windows" to run & developed properly, WP OS need POWERFUL hardware accompanied by, as MOST of Windows softs are optimized to run under powerful hardware (just look at MOST of recent Windows soft, minimal requirements are Pentium dual core with adequate RAM & VGA card, or the soft will run sluggish or won't run AT ALL).

And if u compare it to what Atom offers, u will and can only laugh; the CPU performance is LAUGHABLE, Intel can't offer good GPU without PowerVR GPU solutions, ever since the netbook era, and the most problematic one; Intel x86 architecture have the worst battery consumption when it comes to smartphone SoC, while ARM has full advantage over ALL the aspects above (GREAT CPU & GPU performance, while still maintain low-battery consumption).

So, WP last desperate 'trump card': "One Windows" can be said closer to "pipe dream". Even if some well-known or most used Windows soft come to Windows store, I believed the soft won't be as versatile & easy-to-use as it was before in Desktop environment, as touchscreen input & Desktop input have entirely different experinces.

It doesn't allow you to migrate to Modern UI. That's just an installer with launcher. Just distribution bundle, that's it.

Live tiles need to be coded in exe software's too. If someone wants to use live tiles, they can use desktop bridge and code the live tiles. Normal win32 apps should be allowed to have *live* tiles too.
