See if the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus survive being dropped 12 times

16 September 2016
If you live in Australia you had the possibility of being one of the first people in the world to go into an Apple store and leave with an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus today. And that's exactly what one enterprising individual did. He bought both, in fact. So now that he has in his possession Apple's two latest and greatest smartphones, what is he to do?

Sort by:

It is the achilles ' heel of this phone. The protrude lens, we can see the protrude lens very easy get scratched from the drop test.

Have you seen the hammer test on the galaxy note7. Forget the battery issue for a second and watch how many hammer smashes it takes to damage it.

Then come back and let us discuss this "second to none" matter

Anonymous, 17 Sep 2016Yeah, take that Gorilla glass lolHmmm, actually that's yet another thing Apple did and nobody talks about : they came up with their own reinforced screens and comparing with Corning's latest Gorilla generation, it's quite impressive and it's two years old already

Don't trust AndroidAuthority's guys. All they do is bashing Samsung and praising Apple, undercover. That' a fact.
You know , coming from 'android guys' is more believable.
Who knows with how many iPhones they made this 'test' to choose the best scenario. May be Apple sent them 10, so to do the trick.

303tk4, 16 Sep 2016I saw those guys testing other phones in the same way, but ... moreyeah, every drop is different, the bad things with these videos is when ppl tell them lies cuz they dropped it from lower heights and still cracked XD
these "drop tests" always have to say "don't do it at home" (same like the post) but overall is good some people test them like that (even when can't be fully reliable) :D

lol the thing is... it's good enough to survive to a couple drop test (in case someone dops by accident) it's good the heights and the 12 times cover more than enough for (i would say) half a year, now there're are surfaces and surfaces, in case u drop it into a wasted street (for example) it may survive, but the scratches can be a real let down, it's not good to own a $1000 phone that looks like u bought it second hand cuz all the scratches XD

I saw those guys testing other phones in the same way, but each time landing angle and ground conditions vary, rather, far from identical.

If glass hit the (indiscernible) sharp edge of rough surface or microscopic pebbles on a seemingly flat surface, screen crack easily even in the case of much lower height.. like my old iphone and LG :-(

We'd better take this just funny experiment.
I think those guys somewhat knew that while they're doing this.
