Sapphire is a mineral (Al2O3). It cannot be "trademarked". Also there is a Videocard manufacturer called Sapphire Technology (www.sapphiretech.com). So if someone is able to sue anyone it are these guys.
Anyway. The screenshot does say sapphire crystal which DOES indicate that sapphire gemstone (AKA crystal) materials should have been used in the lens cover. As someone wrote before. Either Apple is lying or their Chinese contractor is pulling a fast one here :-(
Either way I am NOT going to buy stuff from the 2 biggest smartphone corps this year. Since they BOTH fucked up big time! So long Apple and Samsung... see you folks at the unemployment line!

The lens cover and home button were tested using picks made specifically for doing a Mohs hardness test for sapphire to see if they were, in fact, real sapphire. In such a test, REAL sapphire will not scratch since the pick is softer than REAL sapphire. The pick is, however, hard enough to scratch softer materials such as hardened glass which, apparently, the home button and camera lens cover are since they are not sapphire. Either Apple lied or their supplier/fabricator in China pulled a fast one.

Actually it is sapphire glass used by Apple but made in China.

Sapphire is the second most durable transparent material on Earth after diamond...It doesn't mean it's indestructible... It's not "vibranium", jeez! You hit or scratch it hard enough, it WILL show. But, haters gonna hate! Does it state anywhere that you have to walk around with a fire extinguisher in your hand when you use a note 7? Nope! Should it? YES! :))

Dude what does that even mean?!? If their production line and resource inputs can't keep up with demand, halt the sales till they have stock to sell. Next they'll say not all iPhone 7 have the OIS sensors because apple ran out of supply due to increased demand.
