The panel on the X Compact is miles better than the previous Compact models, and probably better than almost all other devices. This also affects the battery life of the smartphone. And GSMArena might do a re-test on this phone like what they did with the XA from 40h to 57h

This is not good from Sony.
As a standalone time you may think it is ok, but compared to other phones it's bad.
The compact has a significantly smaller screen then most of the devices it is being compared too. The Screen uses a large % of the power in most power tests so why is this so low considering it has a lot less to power.
Processor is another point of contention. it is clearly more power hungry then the 820. so you getting less process for more power usage. Worse then the passed 2 Compact in everything so how is this Sony moving forward and Sony was the Battery daddy.

Still very good battery life. This matches up to iPhone Plus models which is considered stellar. People have just been spoiled by the Xperia Z3 Compact and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (Exynos). They want 100h rating. Very good but nothing special. Sony's pinnacle was still two years ago with the Z3 phones.

Quite disappointing to be honest... my Z3 is better and the Z3 compact even more so. Still waiting on a worthy upgrade.

Now people who were crying about 2700 being very less for it can now rest in peace as 73 hours are good for a battery capacity like this. When my Z5 having 2900 can give a 16-18 hrs usage on full day LTE use with approx 7 hrs of SoT then i guess X Compact can easily beat Z5 there.
P.S. And did i mention i get 1.5 days of use when i turn off the LTE and switch to WiFi.

And it will even go up for about 30-40% after a couple of weeks when Xperia learns usage patterns, just like XA went from 40hr to 57hr on retest

Even Sony itself can't beat the 101 Hours Endurance of the Z3 Compact

I normally hammer Sony about their battery life but 73 hours is ok (not great) for a small device.

I was expecting more battery life because of the small screen. The battery life is the same as my S6 edge that have 2600 mAh battery. Anyway, good job GSMArena for this battery life test.
