Hi guys, I wanna ask is there any difference between J7 prime and On7? I mean judging by its looks its somewhat the same though. Is it only the phone processor is different? so confused ...

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2016Will it survive in China? Samsung is having a problem in China, where Oppo tops the market share. This is a typical problem of a copycat like Samsung. Samsung copied others and became successful, but in China, everybody else have no problem copying Samsung, for even less money. So Samsung is getting its own medicine in China.

yes this is a good deal but i don't get it why are they launching 2 different series in the same price range?
Galaxy S series and Note series - flagship
Galaxy A series - Premium midrange
Galaxy J series and On series - Low end budget phones to midrange phones
why are they both competing in the same price range ?
And they do have similar spec.

The display resolution is usually the victims of this thing. But samsung decided to cut corners by downgrading the Super Amoled in Galaxy J7 to TFT in J7 Prime but it has been bump up from 720p to 1080p. They pretty much balance out the specs with the optimum pricing available.

I think you confusing it with J or A series. On series is even lower than E series so, the specs is mostly not that great at all. Even On7 (2015) used TFT. The On7 Pro also used TFT. There were never Amoled display used on this On series.

The main grievances of the J7-Prime were the 16GB storage, lack of sensors & TFT display. If those are resolved with the rest of the features intact then it is a winning model.
With the On7/On5 compared to J7/J5 I thought that the On series is low-tier compared to J series i.e., S>A>J>On but now it is getting confusing. The On5/On7 Pro were good but camera and soc was not that good but now that soc is great hope it has good cameras too. :)
