Android needs to start moving to one standard if you ask me, the main reason for all the splits are different LTE bands and production prices. Pretty sure if they all collaborated we'd have a mobile SoC that would really be something to look at. The benefit of that will be massive in terms of being able to standardise the OS, which would then put them on a level playing field in terms of speed and responsiveness. Well, one can dream.

One of the best hardware no doubt, but that neon colored mess of an android makes me gratefull and reminds me why am on iOS in the first place!
P.S.I would'nt mind using android again,if HTC or Sony choose to make a decent flagship for a change ;)

Will this chip finally beat the Apple A9? Added bonus if the phone doesn't explode.

Imperator Neubaticus, 24 Sep 2016Which world are you living in? Samsung flagships have some ... morewell, the alpha still beats the s6 and s7 and note 7 series battery lifetime. and try to compare the s7 against the s7 active. then you will see my point. and im living in a world where my s7 cant get through a day with several hours of camming over messenger and gaming unreal engine 4 games. and the normal daily usage. that is why im saying to sammy, stop being apple and focus on the inner instead of the outer of the phone. so what is 1 or 2 mm thicker phone, if it gives 12-18 hours longer battery time.

Well I think that it is really an excellent news! If it will be a very powerful CPU & GPU (of more than 3Ghz of power ) with a 4K display & it will manage the battery draining etc. Much much better than the Xperia Z5 premium?! It will be really really great! So I'm completely looking forward to it! Come on Samsung just do it & do it absolutely right!!!!

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2016Sony phones never lag or hang or freeze or other annoying t... moreMy friend's Sony phone has bad battery problem, and it's not just 1 of them. She also had random shutdown and using the camera almost always shut the app down. Reset make a trip to the service centre, doesn't solve any of the problem and Sony said it's fixed.
Conclusion, never believe someone when they say a particular phone never has a problem. When they say that, it means that phone HAS issues.

AnonD-404798, 24 Sep 2016at least I'm not a fanboy like you . me attacking Samsung !... moreSony phones never lag or hang or freeze or other annoying thing unlike other phones. Sony's UI is even better and has lowest crash rate than Nexus. Dial with that. And 3GB ram is enough for Sony. Sony won't need 6GB ram like Chinese craps.

AnonD-442781, 24 Sep 2016I said the exynos gpu deals a lot better with heat, because... moreU R right, Sony is on a whole higher level than Samsung product. Good market has nothing to do with superior product. Just like xperia with 3 gig ram can perform far better than any Samsung phone.

The A5, A7 and A53 belong to the Cambridge family of microarchitectures.
ARM’s A15, A57, A72 belong to the Austin family.
The Cortex A12, A17 and the new A73 belong to the Sophia family, which is ARM's low-power architecture.
If "Exynos 8895 will apparently go all the way up to 3 GHz" is true, it means Samsung will be using the A73.
ARM positions the A73, which has 2-wide decoder (but may be with increased microarchitecture’s decoder width), as a higher-performance and lower-power design compared to the larger A72 with 3-wide decoder.
