Froyo, new UI coming to Dell Streak in the UK soon

14 November, 2010
The Dell Streaks will be jumping from the past to the future - they will start ditching Android 1.6 Donut and going straight to 2.2 Froyo (sorry, Eclair) very soon. Along with the usual updates that come with Froyo...

I put this UI on my Nexus One and it looks nice but I don't like it. And you must be a retard if you think Android is a hassle and "Hard" to use. I love "Stock" Android without Sense, Motoblur, and Touchwiz.

It's best reserved for dedicated handhelds and consoles anyway. Not to mention that, at the very least, the newer Android handsets have the edge of better GPU's (plus the upcoming Tegra 2 CPU) over other handsets. It may not be suitable for long gaming, but at least graphics/gameplay performance are still comparable to an iPhone.

Bernard, 14 Nov 2010Maria, people don't like android because it's not efficient... moreToo much hassle? Sorry, but I have to disagree with you there. In fact, I easily jumped ship from iOS to Android and learned most of its tricks in no time flat. Learning curve is the same as having to learn any new OS, not that difficult.

And while I do agree that Android still has to address power consumption issues, it is by no means an inferior OS. It has tons of features and allows for customization, and has a more sandbox feel to it that other closed ecosystems i.e. iOS. I like how it allows you to access the core system files and edit configurations at will.

It's my mistake to point that Version 1.2

It's running the Android Version 2.2

But that girl should have mentioned about Android 2.2 first
and then about the OEM Version Froyo V1.2 By Dj_Streak
