Didn't Huawei made it clear before that they are reluctant to use Quad HD and 2k screens?
I don't see any problem with that at all as it has no difference in the naked eye and only impacts battery life.

I'll take the superior battery life it offers over every other so-called benefit any day of the week.

Had the opportunity to use a Mate 8 for a little while and loved every minute of it. The camera was only thing slightly lacking imo, however it seems like that's going to be addressed with the Mate 9. This is definitely going to be my next device.

If you didn't know about a device, you better stay silent. I am using Mate 8 and it is excellent in battery life. I have friends with S7 and all. I didn't find any performance difference between my phone and theirs. Mate 8 is the most powerful and most power efficient phone I have ever used. There is no comparison between sAMOLED QHD and FHD LCD. But I can say it is enough bright in Sunlight and enough pixel density for movies and games.

Huawei is the third largest manufacture of smart phones in the world. The mate 8 is a great phone and there is no doubt the mate 9 will be even better. Many of you here are belittling the mate 9 even before it is officially announce but no one is asking you to buy it. Whatever price the mate 9 will be sold for I can tell it will by far cheaper than the iPhone 7 and the Samsung S7. I presently own a mate 8 and some of you who fork out your money for these renowned expensive brand I can tell you that the mate 8 is a superb phone. Battery life is out of this world, something that you will come to notice when compare to other expensive brand. The mate 8 is also very fast, no lagging issues. Again you do not have to buy a phone with a great specs that is half the price of your renowned brands.

What a disappointment, same old 1080p screen, might as well get a Mate 8 for half the price. Got used to a QHD screen these last few years, Looks like I may have to opt for V20 now.

Its perfectly smooth, and there are maybe some framedrops on VERY heavy games, or new, unoptimized games. This will be better than the P9. I am inclined to believe that it wouldn't disappoint in performance.
