Nice looking phone with top specs. I wish they will make an unlocked model with bands that play nice with carriers here in the US. This beauty is on my wish list together with a few others..V20, Pixelet XL etc.

Fantastic. Once the Mate 9 is out in the wild, I will be able to compare that to the Mi5S Plus and make a decision then.

I have been using Mate 8 for last 6 months. It is the best phone I ever had and I had a lot of them. No1 thing for me is battery life, because I don't want to carry charger, battery bank etc. Mate 8 has enormous 4000 mah battery that lasts forever. Also, phone itself is super slick, fast, no lag at all. No overheating, it is only warm after serious gaming.
Build quality is great, metal unibody. Also, it is very tough, because it fell down on the concrete a few times, it got some marks, but the screen didn't broke. I was sure it broke in million pieces because I was drunk and it fell from 2 meters face dow.
Screen is also great, no need for useless QHD. Fingerprint top notch. Camera solid, serves good in 90% of time, but my old G4 was better in that department. UI (EMUI) is very good, mix between Android and iOS...
So, Mate 9 can only be better and I will get it. I like their dual camera setup, it shows they want to improve this segment. Also, they could make full metal unibody like on Mate S, with nice antenna bands instead of plastic caps as on Mate 8. Mate S was the best looking phone made by Huawei, but battery life was awful. Also I personally prefer IPS LCD instead of Amoled that Mate S used.
So, Mate 9 will be a monster and I believe it will destroy competition. Huawei is doing great business.

I got my Mate 7 Gold exactly a year ago. Great phone and battery life. However the phone is very slow last 6 months. Always out of storage and camera takes 2-3 sec to take a picture, ages. But I blame Marshmallow.
If only mate 9 had qhd. Users in comments say they don't see difference between fhd and qhd. Well I do.
My dream phone was Note 7. I'm a VR succer. But 860 is quiet steep for a phone with issues.

Huawei surely does a much better job than Xiaomi, OnePlus (With all respect for them, because theyr good ofc) or Meizu do honestly. Theyr the only "real" chinese global company that matters as of now and doesnt implicate serious drawbacks in hardware durability and software security, probable shipping issues and post-purchase assistance. Oppo and LeEco are the renegades at the moment lol.
