GSM, 17 Nov 2010Why GSMArena is so convincing calling it a phone from Samsu... moreare you kidding me? look at the touch sensitive buttons, they are identical to all other galaxy s phones, plus other leaked pictures with google branded on the back and samsung on the front still doesn't have enough evidence to convince you nexus s made by samsung?

Gsmarena, Look , Middle of the display is ok but top and bottom portion made it look curvier.
that means it does not make the display curvier.
its only the plastic / bazel part.

The good thing about the curved protective layer (or frame) is that there's less risk to get the display scratched if you put the phone on a flat surface.

Anyone remembered a video in gsmarena some times ago with a thin flexible screen by Samsung? They were hitting the screen with a hammer to showed its durability all the while a video was playing on the screen.
Still, i agreed with the general comment that it is only the glass that is curved, not the screen itself. And yeah, it could possibly improve sunlight legibility too.

This reminds me about the first article I read when the AMO LED displays were a new technology. I enjoy the dark saturation and non back lit display of my HTC Desire. As you know the manufacturers could not keep up with the mass market. Hence the decision for the latest Desire HD to have the Super LCD display. I do enjoy the Retina display of the iphone but for definition and brightness the Galaxy S is second to none. I would imagine this to be a problem as they have already stated problems getting the product to the mass market.

It might give a 3D effect to the image on the screen. Or it might be a 3D screen, with no need for glasses.

It might even improve sunlight legibility, which is still a major problem for many new phones.

Won't this make screens smaller, or percievably smaller???
