In my country it is 644 euro, i've just preorderd mine + headphones bonus, xperia z5 when i bought it was more expensive, so i think it's not a bad price, but here are too many bashers, bad reviews, nothing hee makes me change my mind if i want something i check myself if is good for me and i don't trust reviews here, btw my z5 that is one year old works like the first day only downsize now is the battery :)

I know the... moreyou can't generalize "nowadays people want performance in cheap price and they buy chinese phones". Only in developing countries, people buy Chinese stuff, and since some developing countries have a large and ever growing population that's why the huge numbers of such Chinese devices sold. In developed countries e.g. West Europe/US/Oceania, people still pay for these big and named companies.
Moreover, the software of Chinese phones is often a mess and usually without good support, not to mention those "extra flagship features" are also missing. They boast their hardware numbers but do you think they put the same quality internals (e.g. RAM, ROM, PLC, etc.) as compared to what Sony, Samsung, Apple are putting inside their flagships?
So, the bottom line is whosoever can afford these big brands, never buys the Chinese stuff.

Am typing this on an Xperia Z3 that I got new for £180 this month whilst I wait for Note 7, and it is very nice, but the ZX is not much improved for a phone arriving 2 years later. My Z3 is fast as a modern phone, only con is the camera produces mushy images in anything but sunlight. ZX looks and feels nice but isn't a game changer. And why have Sony dumbed down the popular Compact now? No 4K or waterproofing. WTF?

I know the... moreThe more older a company will has bigger structure organization, big paycheck (for CEO, vice president etc), unwilling to change into something new (more efficient and modern than current method). As the result their product become more expensive, compare to new fresh start company with a small and efficient organization, entry level paycheck, a new method production etc....

Normal price to buy. Who buy Sony they pay for premium quality. My Z3 works very smooth even after two years. I've bought it with 900$. So 700$ is normal price.

In Malaysia, it's priced at RM2699, making it worthwhile in Malaysia market.
