Samsung will STILL have bad reputation on Note lines. How many do you think would be walking to a Samsung store to apply for their Note7 batteries? 50-80%? First, how customer going to verify they own a genuine Note7 and not just pull out a fake battery from a fake Note7 and get free new battery just like that. I'm sure the process is a bit of a hassle. Registration, verification and stuff. Then, there is a problem of how would you differentiate which Note7 have the newly replaced safe battery and the old battery. The green battery indicator is there because Samsung replaced the battery along with its software. Some are manufactured along with new battery aka fresh batch of Note7. So, simply swapping battery not gonna make the battery indicator turn green. Software adjustment is needed. OTA update? You know how slow Samsung are. Customer would complain, "I swap my battery with safe ones weeks ago. Why there still no firmware update to change my battery indicator? Flights wouldnt allow me to switch on my phone! I'm rejected from entering a restaurant! F*** this!". You'll probably need to leave your phone at the store for them to do it. Or they could just give out new safe phone altogether and its is the same as the situation we have with Note7 currently. In the end, the phone need to be replaced instead of the batteries. See how this goes?

Dear Samsung cut the bs.... you've promised reliability when buying your products but nowhere found such kind of my LED TV failed after 2 years and my Note 7 has been returned as well,so as you can see there is 0 (Zero) reliability

Even new battery has no problems, has good capacity and will serve at least 1 year without throwing your phone away or pay a premium for battery replacement, loyal customers will face for the explosion, fire, burn etc. jokes quite for a long time which even young kids learned so far. For a smartphone which costs A LOT, that will be quite a pitty and not nice at all.

Received my replacement on Friday and can confirm that the battery is as good as it was before the recall.

In the end Samsung may have given a great service now but these costumers had to pay royally for it. I mean come on, 850 euros for what's essentially a "phone". :-/

In THAT case: YES!

First of all, users don't/didn't have to BUY the new battery. They would get a FREE exchange. Since Samsung honestly declared this a manufacturing fault and tries to rectify this by preventively exchanging flawed devices of which the majority haven't exploded yet, this is a good from Samsung and shows they take this seriously.

Users DON'T have to BUY the new battery, they'd get it for FREE in this particular case. With the advantage that you'd walk-in and walk-out in the shop instead of waiting 1 month for a replacement phone.

It is Samsung themselves who ordered with that one (1) partner the new batteries. And yes, these batteries or replica's of original Samsung batteries made in a factory that makes them a little bit cheaper (originaly intended for the Chinese market even). But it looks for now that the non-Samsung manufactured batteries are better in this particular case. Anyway, at one point you just have to trust the manufacturer since they are directly dealing with this. If you can't trust Samsung in this then you shouldn't have bought their product in the first place!

No it would NOT.
1) manufacturing batteries is faster then manufacturing parts and assembling complete phones. So waiting time would be far less to receive a new battery than to receive a new phone.
2) transporting boxes of batteries is of lower volume and thus cheaper then transporting complete (fragile) phones.
3) the actual battery replacement could be done at the shop. In fact Samsung could have done some extra mile and delivered an extra battery free of charge to restore customer satisfaction. This would fare much better with the public then just exchanging phones.
--> In fact I still think Samsung should push the extra mile and give a free headset/game/app or voucher on another Samsung product IMHO to restore consumer confidence.

A Question for the people who received the new note 7 after the recall, is the battery performance as expected or not ? and does the note overheat while charging or being in use ?

If anything happened like Samsung to them, they have no financial support at all to do a recall or exchange program globally neither they have expertise in releasing temporary solution like the 60% battery cap Samsung made for Note7 timely. They wouldnt even have the money to refurbish and remake rhe entire smartphone in time either unless they habe a large capacity production factory like Samsung.

While I can agree with you on points like Samsung copying designs such as the OP3 for the C series, or TouchWiz that makes the device less faster, I keep my head cool and look at plain facts, all of them. You cannot deny the features TouchWiz brought, years ahead stock Android and other manufacturers, such as Multi-Windowing, Themes, Vulkan, floating apps and Ultra Power Saving Mode, among others, while you cannot argue with things like the flagship designs, the S-Pen, iris scanner, stock file manager that syncs with Google Drive, sAMOLED display and the best cameras in the industry.

I think I will be patient and wait for the Note 8. Because this phone might not be as much popular now, so that means it will have less software support. And I really am looking forward the next generation of Exynos SoC. Maybe we will either have proper software optimization or a very very powerful SoC...
