I'll never buy another Sony Xperia again! My Xperia Z3 had a very serious flaw in its headphone jack. It started to producing crackling sounds in all the ear and headphones I was using until I saw the problem....cracked jack due to it's flimsy plastic construction. I researched a bit and saw that this is a fairly common problem with many Xperias. Sony seems to be skimping on the good and durable stuff.

In practice, for the regular consumers, it doesn't have fingerprint sensor.

AnonD-428442, 04 Oct 2016There is no fingerprint sensor in the US version.There is fingerprint sensor just "disabled" if using the US Firmware. To "Enable" it just flash an INTERNATIOAL Firmware like previous Xperias like X Perf. & Z5.

Sony ignoring the America market is a great move. Provoking the Americans to jealousy while pumping out great products, plus I read there latest 4k tv is a killer. We'll see.

Sony has some odd patent dispute that prevents it from putting the scanner on in the US without costing them additional money. They've unwisely chosen to not pay the additional money and eliminate the fingerprint scanner altogether while at the same time charging $700 for a phone missing this key MID TIER feature.

That's why you don't see marketing campaigns or freebies with the phone, heck they didn't even bother with enabling the fingerprint scanner! They are focusing more on Europe and Asia because they know that US is a lost cause.

It's almost as if Sony wants Xperia to fail: not only did they fail to get carrier support, but they're selling their phone at an exorbitant price--and without the fingerprint sensor, to top it off! And like all Xperia phones, there will likely be zero marketing or promotion, meaning the general public (those who don't regularly visit gadget blogs) won't even know the Xperia XZ exists or that Sony makes phone at all.
