... moreSorry have no idea how to convert Rs into US$, as the latter is the international standard which most people know how to convert into their local currency.
To elaborate, my colleagues in China, working as assistant, get about US$400 a month, while a factory worker earns about US$100 a month.
The (GSM based WCDMA) 3G plan in China starts with about US$8 a month for 60mb of data.
Would a factory worker spends almost 1/10 of the salary just for 3G "fun"? (rather than saving every cent possible so the family back home can live better!) For those office workers, a good chunk of the $ also goes to rent, food, etc...

Your listing would make sense if only Nokia abided by it! Unfortunately they just don't seem to be doing so which really doesn't help.
This is a company that seems to release two-dozen handsets at a time. Unlike Apple, they really need a naming scheme that makes sense for the consumer. If I buy a computer with an Intel i5 CPU, I know the "brains" aren't as fast as an i7. K.I.S.S., Nokia!

There are no unlimited
plans as one would
expect. But one has to
note that there is talktime
bundled along with the 3G
data.But do you think 2GB
is enough for 3G ?

If they cannot afford 3G "service", why the heck do they need a 3G handset?
FYI, most people in China still use China mobile, which offers GSM in 2G only. The 3G Unicom company only targets "high end" customers like those who pay near US$900 CASH for iphones...

And to the "average" consumer who knows almost nothing about the company's model numbering system and positioning strategy, why the "keyboard" version of N8 is called E7?

The fact is the original Galaxy and the Galaxy Spica/Portal/Lite were less than a year old when Samsung decided that they'd no longer get an update. In other words, the Galaxy is stuck with Donut, while the Spica is stuck with Eclair. (We're talking about updates from the manufacture, not from the mod community.)
On the other hand, the 5800 is like 2-year-old, and it'll be getting another update. And that's better support compared to Samsung's.

once again nokia show us its problems: it's uncapable of deciding a pure and true line of products; it's quite obviously that Nokia has once again lost it's way in the woods not knowing the right road to go. A few months ago, a year or so, when Nokia anounced a new system of product lines: x line, c line and so on, I thought it was ok, Nokia was on its way to reabilitate the annoying huge number of phones with same idiotic names (usually series of numbers) and very very close specs. well, Nokia seems to bring back old and bad habits: sub-genres appear once again, C2-01...C2-02... X2-01, X3-01 ...c'mon Nokia, give us a break, will ya?! Can't you produce a cheap line of phones, a medium priced one and let's say a high-end line...10-15 models of all and that's it! and pls, ged rid of that pathetic Symbian. Get Android if your own maemo stinks. You're going down Nokia and it's not a good thing....
