Alikh, 07 Oct 2016This improvment is the exact tech which microsoft is using,... moreTV companies like LG and Samsung have been doing it for years with their 100Hz+ displays despite 99% of media and entertainment equipment outputting 60Hz or below. Unless you've got a PC rig or some form or system that can output that many frames per second it's all filler frames.

Anonymous, 07 Oct 2016I don't think it will die out. It is the new fad just like ... morenahh.. it's way too big to fail... it might take 5 years to become truly mainstream and cheap but it will definitely not fail..
because the uses are endless... once phones from next year start coming with 4k displays .. VR adoption will be big.. more than gaming .. i think movies and Netflix is what will make it successful
phone with 4k screen + daydream view/gear vr like headset is what will make it successful and mass sellers especially when the price falls down to 200-300$ for total setup in next 3-4 years...
3d was just too expensive and cumbersome .. vr is cheap.. not now.. but it will be in next 4 years once 4k screen phones become mainstream..

Anonymous, 07 Oct 2016I give it a few years before VR dies outI don't think it will die out. It is the new fad just like once 3D was and it will lose popularity soon just the same. Funny thing is it isn't even that popular to begin.
