this phone is pure Nokia... only manufactured by foxconn
phone is DESIGNED by Nokia then licensed to hmd ( which also consists of old Nokia employees ) for sales and support ... and then it is licensed by hmd to foxconn for manufacturing... ( and the manufacturing will also b done at old Nokia factories )
just like Apple designs iPhone and is manufactured by foxconn .. similarly this is designed by Nokia and manufactured by foxconn... sales and support will be handled by hmd ( ex nokia )
this is return of pure Nokia...

Nokia (mobile division) was sold by microsoft to HMD, a Finland-based company which will be responsible for the design of Nokia phones. Some members of HMD are ex-Nokia people. Foxconn will only be responsible for the manufacture of Nokia phones.

Maybe you're talking about the Chinese company that made the Nokia N1, but that was before, when Nokia still can't build their own smartphones since they were prohibited by Microsoft and that was in their contract until 3rd or 4th Quarter of 2016, but now they can execute all their plans... And also HMD Global can use patents of Nokia and their R&D department... Exciting...

this may change in future but for now that's what it is like it or not.
