Cheap but lack processing power, benchmark does reflect real life usage. I've change to exynos & snapdragon powered phones & tablet ever since. crappy mediatek cores, go for intel instead if you are on a budget phone.

No drivers, no proper source, no nothing. Thus nothing custom, which in turn means that the life of the phone is over the moment the producer doesn't wanna support it. Anyway, I would refrain from buying it. I like the Redmi Note 4, but I would not buy it because of the SoC.

Meizu is yet to embrace the revolutionary new "USB C" port (almost all other cell ph makers have started). Curious if this ph does have it?

A SoC as powerful as 2015 flagships phones for $150, and less powerful Snapdragon SoCs for even lower price. So, why would anyone go for MediaTek again?

MTK chipset, no roms, no kernels to play with...no buy. If i wanted a basic phone i would've bought an iPhone.
If i buy an Android, i want to play with it, flashing all kinds of roms, mods etc

Other than Snapdragon, Exynos, Kirin and Apple's. All of those expensive but powerful than Mediatek. Any cheaper than Mediatek you would get a Spreadtrum or any unknown brands that is way way low quality.
