Microsoft starts taking pre-orders for HP Elite x3 Lap Dock

HP Elite x3 Lap Dock. The device is now listed on the Redmond, Washington-based company's US website for $599, and will start shipping November 14 onwards.

    This would've been interesting in 2006, but I'm not really sure the point of this device in this age of easy smartphone tethering and automatic syncing of everything over cloud.

    There doesn't seem to be any weight advantage (especially with the advent of passively cooled Core m based devices), and those businesses that care about the small cost advantage will probably choose a less expensive laptop from a different vendor, given the loss of flexibility compared to a full laptop.

        Microsoft should hire some people who understand Business and Market. It's difficult to understand them for me. They aren't Apple to drive out of the road at the point. Taking away headphone jack was a silly move by Apple, but even still they have millions of customers baking them. Microsoft is doing silly experiments. They should make Windows like 10 times more powerful at the time.

                I'm not a fan of Windows, but I would be interested if Google did something similar with Android.
