I doubt it S7 edge is still making crazy profits and where they could be haulted by its 0.2 inch bigger brother, now they will continue at full throttle and absorving most of the note 7 impact, dont think that a greedy company like Samsung, who has profits as their priority will out the clients first, they have calculated the estimated loses and thats why they took that decision so lighthearted!

HAHAHAHAHA, 15 Oct 2016 Nice. They deserved it. Hope it will happen to Apple too.If it ever happened to Apple, Apple will topple in just a day. iphone is the only flagship they have. Even their laptops or computers sales can't make up the void. Unlike Samsung that have midrange and budget phone along witg their other variety of business. This is the part where Apple will release PPAP. Pen Pineapple Apple Pen will be 'innovative'.

I'm not gonna jump on a hate train, like others here, even if it is deserved outcome, but those numbers are...very, very optimistic. I think Samsung is trying a bit of a damage control and trying to calm down the investors, preventing them from leaving, but those numbers are probably gonna end up being much higher, than those estimations. They got too cocky, too careless, never a good thing in this business.

Seems that the end of Samsung is near.
Every company has it's high time and eventually low time and then slowly leads to death.
I have no pity on them since for years... they can't even optimise their laggy crappy TouchWiz. Their smoothness still losses to HTC Sense, Oxygen UI and Sony UI.

You see the irony there? If you truly value your family's safety and not greed, you would have gotten rid of the note 7 asap.

Out of topic. Please don't become the slaves of technology. Nowadays, we don't spend too much on smartphones. Just opt for an affordable smartphone. These smartphone manufacturers are going to earn billions. There will be new and better smartphones with so many unnecessary features, thus make our phones outdated. Then we buy them, and those manufacturers earn billions again. What about us? Just think.

I'm keeping my Note 7 for a while longer and demand more than $25 credit. I won't budge unless I get 2X what I paid for my Note7. Samsung placed my family in danger. They will pay for it.

Many Note users ( from Note 2 to Note5 ) would not opt for an S7/S7edge, producing more S7/S7edge wont get you those Note user, a reliable Note7, re launched, re imaged, or a replacement model (Note6, Note VII, Note7 prime, Note7+, or just Note8) may recapture those user base.
