Anonymous, 18 Oct 2016To everyone who's talking like a Birlibam salesman and prob... moreHi Anonymous,
I want to make one think clear. Yes I am a salesman. I am head of Trade department of an international Company that sells Italian goods. I do not have any relation with this application.
As i wrote a couple of days ago i was also skeptical about the idea, but i gave a chance to a product made from a Company unknown to me. My only idea was to write a good comment for a service that really works. I test it with my family on Sunday and yesterday with my colleagues.
Yes you are also right. I am also an Android user and i am aware of this functionality. Unfortunately i am in-charge for the Eastern Europe market. The Greeks have they own alphabet and the Russian have Cyrillic alphabet. Most of the time they edit their information with a pen. When i receive a business card from them and i scan it most of the times the information is wrong and if you have more logos on the business card the things are even more complicated. And if i need to edit the information by my own after a scan the entire process is pointless.
And one more think. When i make my research on Birlibam the second bullet on their homepage is that is cloud base. My Company went to a process of re-branding so we change office, domain and phone numbers. So i start writing a lot of emails in order to say to my clients that my phone number, email and office address is changed. So scanning a business card is not a solution for me. I will prefer to make the changes and everyone to be notified for them.
And once again my only reason of writing a comment was to express my feedback with the persons that read the blog.
I want to say also thank you to GSMArena for their desire to keep us always up to date.

To everyone who's talking like a Birlibam salesman and probably is.
In Android at least the Samsung Galaxy series. You can create a contact scroll down and click scan a business card and it will fill that for you. Just save it to your company account or a different email account if you don't want it mixed up with your personal contacts

They are all poor companies with no future and no one wants to use their services.

Who in his right mind would use a service called "Birlibam" ? This could only work as an April's Fool joke.

Seriously, get a better name for the service. People do not wish to share or exchange services with some funny name that not all people know how to says it.

Akinaro, 16 Oct 2016""All that being said, it is kind of sad that business card... moreHi Akinaro,
I do not know you and all of your comments seems reasonable. I read the article this morning and I also was skeptical about this idea. Something that grab my attention was that is free, mobile and can be used offline. So I found Birlibam on FB I also open their homepage in order to read more and the logic behind the idea catch me even more.
I start remember every awkward moment that I have with the paper business cards. More of the times they are not enough and my name is particular so typo is very common. What a relief to know that you contact information can be always with you, that can be edited on the go and can be exchanged limitless times.
I travel all around the world and yes my mobile phone is also with me. I have numerous contacts during flights and having the ability to exchange offline is great.
I install the application and I found out that my contact information can be also multilingual, how cool is that you can proof your interest to your foreign business partners when you present yourself in their language. And yes you are right saying that in some business meeting the mobile phones are prohibited, but in my experience you waste too much time in exchanging business cards. I now used one of their method of exchange – Bam Exchange and I managed to exchange my contact information (my wife, my brother and my mother) in a glance. Every one of us received the contact information in less than a second. So I was thinking this is great for conference meetings (on the phone or skype), because you do not need to be near each other to exchange cards. I also test the public share and is awesome. I make my contact information public for 10 minutes on 50 meters of range.
Let’s talk about the cost. The cards that you mention cost a lot. My Company spend thousands of dollars in order to make fancy business cards on expensive paper. Since that my Company is big there is always people that comes and goes. First of all, this is a waste of paper and a waste of money.
I loved the idea and as I wrote earlier I will talk to my HR department first think tomorrow.

""All that being said, it is kind of sad that business cards are stuck in the analog realm,""

                  Really ldiotic reasoning.
No matter what business you have(small shop or international company ) business card is nothing more than your personal contact information that will be available no matter of situation, no matter if you have internet right now or have phone.
Actually if you would like to know even in bigger companies(even related to media/internet) using phones during meetings is not only rude but just prohibited(and you exchange cards during those meatings).

Business card is made and used to forward basic informations. If you would know there is HUGE difference between business cards of normal people and cards of "bigger fishes" like international workers, lawyers etc.
First one always try to make the card look fancy, loots of data on it. colors everywhere.
Second one use simple cards that give most basic and important informations, because most of details they will get accessing those informations(site, bog, portfolio site, email, phone).
And there you can store all those (quote)""cool little features". Because if your business is managed in good taste, you have site/portfolio from the beginning. So what is the point of having another digital card that is nothing more than... internet business card that are well known from years(sites that have just info, description of services and contact).

So you see that "analog" business card look like its look, because this is purpose of it, its like trying to make wall plug that is made for transferring power more fancy by connecting it to internet and adding fancy graphics and diagrams... it sound cool, but at the end no one care about it because all it need to do is transfer power, just like business card "transfer" basic info/contact to other person NO MATTER OF DEVICE OR INTERNET

They go in the bin and i am going digital :) Guys it is really free I already make my first Birlibam card and is Awesome - as they say on the homepage. Only for Company cards there is a small charge - when i do the math it comes less than 0.80 Euro cent for an employee and all of this for an year. This is practically free. I will speak with my HR department on Monday in order to start using Birlibam. Finally a nice service - good job Birlibam!
