Actually, a smart strategy. Not only it seemingly shows some good faith, it also keeps the Samsung brand at international reach. The question is, how would they handle refunds when the person lands at the destination airport? I mean that can be a logistic nightmare, if they can even set it up.
I highly criticize Samsung, but this is actually a good move, if they can execute it well.

    1. Set-up on other airports as well.
    2. For as long as it's genuine, they must also accept Note 7s whether it's bought from other countries.
    3. Offer freebies or other replacement units which they can claim immediately or from other Samsung stores where they (customers) are headed.
    4. Free lunch???

    Hopefully Next Note will be very very great...!!!

      Whilst I think taking a proactive stance is commendable, what happens when a warranty claim is made on the unit supplied from a foreign airport? From personal experience Samsung Australia won't touch devices that are sourced from another market.

        What an absolute cock up Samsung, you guys will be cursing yourselves till eternity on this one

          Consumers cant claim that they didnt know about this when it burn their house down. Well done samsung... i know its a hit in the hip pocket but you are definetly not letting this serious issue go.

              The incredible stupidity of people who continue to use a dangerous device that's been recalled for safety reasons by the manufacturer is just beyond belief. If you're that unresponsible you deserve to get burned.

                  Some smart people are just not ready to return it. This is one decent way to make a person return the handset ( even if unwilling).
                  However, in the end Samsung will use IMEI protocol using OTA and disable the unreturned units for sure.

                      Too bad South Korea can't follow other countries examples. I have to currently wait to ship my device back to the original shop of purchase which is 5 hours away. Courier companies don't want to ship the device, Samsung still can't tell me how to exchange or refund the device.
