The GearVR costs U$220 us dollars here in Brazil. Very few people would otherwise buy into this new tech wave if not by getting this gadget for free. Its cost X benefit in its current state has little appeal to it.

Well...they have to sweeten the deal to attract more people to buy their phones. Not sure if this is going to work though. Like everyone says, VR in its current state is just a novelty. Something to try for a bit and throw it in the corner. It's the same issue with Oculus and Vive. There are no products that sell VR systems, just a short experiences, and until those system sellers come, VR will not take off. You want to attract more people Samsung? Give people free wireless chargers. They cost less than VR headset and everyone will want to use it.

Someone Else, 19 Oct 2016Then why would anyone buy the Gear VR if they're going to u... moreits the same reason i bought a bluetooth headset but got too lazy to use it, and went back to cables..its whats going to happen to airpods..they are intrigueing..they look like fun but in the end they are more work than they are fun...

Samsung is trying so much to make VR relevant, but in reality hardly no-one cares. And most of people who get it free sell it on eBay etc.

Samsung VR is sh*t... when you buy it, you will play around with it for a few hours and then you will forget that you have it...
